CDS Spirit Week
Saturday saw CDS Girls team finally get the opportunity to play a full-sided game and they demonstrated that they are going to be force this season. They dominated possession throughout. With playmaker Jinnie Yoo controlling the game from the center of midfield she was able to spread play to the fast moving forward trio of Chae Rim Park, Sarah Lee and Hoyeon Cho. The constant waves of attack lead to an early goal for Chae Rim Park.
The second half was more evenly balanced though in truth CDS goalkeeper Sarah Park never looked troubled. So it came as no surprise when a quick passing move on the left led to Jinnie slotting home CDS’s second. A great performance by all but especially impressive were 9th grader Chelsea Jung and debutant Zoe Yoon. Next Friday sees the first game of a double header against Chadwick lets hope the girls keep up the impressive form.
Scorers: Jinnie Yoo, Chae Rim Park
CDS Boys 0-1 KKFS
CDS boys gave up a goal after 18seconds then spent 90 minutes trying to break down a resolute
KKFS defense. More commitment and creativity will be required if they are to defeat local rival
Chadwick in the upcoming derbies.
As well as the alternative outfits that were on display throughout Spirit Week the highlight was undoubtedly the talent show that was held on Tuesday. From Eddie’s harmonica to Sarah’s marimba their was plenty of talent on display. Some of the judging was harsh as Mr.”Simon Cowell)”Pak laughed the 12th grade boys off stage but it was a very good humored event that really demonstrated the sense of community within the high school. Congratulations to all our winners! More Photos and results to follow!
