Client:

Clínica Delgado, the most modern clinic in Latin America, reopened in 2014 following capital investment of more than 120 million dollars to equip its facilities with the best infrastructure and the most advanced technology.

Needs:

The new Clínica Delgado has three centres of excellence: Accident & Casualty, Cardiovascular unit and Maternity centre, as well as more than 40 medical specialities. The more than 64,000 m2 distributed in 2 tower buildings house 170 beds, 9 operating theatres and 90 consulting rooms, as well as other departments.

The Clinic was looking for a patient-staff intercom system that meets the quality standards set by the level of services and assistance offered at the centre.

The recently re-opened Clínica Delgado in Peru has installed

state-of-the-art Ibernex technology.

Solution:

Ibernex’s powerful technology and our comprehensive Helpnex solution is the perfect software to meet the needs of the centre. Helpnex enables both warning messages and alarms to nurses and doctors to be sent, and the entire health centre to be managed.

The IP PoE patient - nurse call system is built into the headboards in patients’ rooms so, when they trigger an alarm by pressing the bedside button, the nurses automatically receive the alert on the monitor located at each control point and can see the source of the alarm (room and bed number, in the case of twin rooms) displayed.

The system is also integrated with the pagers that doctors carry, so they can be notified as soon as their presence in a room is needed, wherever they may be.

The use of cards and readers using RFID technology, connected to the four-colour corridor light fittings located above each door to patients’ rooms, makes it possible to log the exact person that responds to each alarm, how long it takes to get to the room, and for how long their intervention lasts.

These two mechanisms allow for close monitoring of health personnel’s tasks and duty rounds, which can be queried via customised reports generated in the programme.

SUCCESS STORY HELPNEX PATIENT – NURSE CALL SYSTEM

Client:

The Santa Ana Residence, belonging to the Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS) and run by the SARquavitae Group, is located in Utebo (Zaragoza). The centre covers 11,375 m2, employs 85 workers and accommodates 135 senior citizens. In addition, it has 30 places in the day centre and a large garden.

Needs:

The centre seeks to guarantee the safety and the prime comfort of users, family and staff, as well as streamlining and simplifying its management and care provision.

The aim: to maintain exact control over entry access to all areas at the

Santa Ana Residence in Zaragoza.

Solution:

Installation of the Access and Presence System that provides close monitoring of access to all areas in the centre and manages the way in which users can access restricted areas. It controls door opening by means of built-in card readers. It also allows workers’ time to be better managed by giving a graphic read-out of the time spent in the centre and generating reports on absentees, late-comers and actual hours worked.

The Santa Ana residence also has Ibernex’s Wander Control System and our Paging System modules, with all services integrated into the same software, Helpnex.

Client:

Residència Sant Camil Hospital, belonging to the Consorci Sanitari Garraf, in Sant Pere de Ribes (Barcelona).

Needs:

The centre needs to have a system that guarantees secure monitoring of certain users at risk of fleeing or prone to wandering and becoming disoriented.

The Wander Control System at the Residència Sant Camil Hospital

increases mobility of residents within the centre, as well as providing

greater peace of mind for relatives.

Solution:

The Ibernex Wander Control System is the perfect solution to prevent people at risk from wandering and leaving the hospital when they are not allowed to. Two antennae are fitted at each main door in and out of the centre to create a coverage area that detects if a resident approaches those exit points thanks to a small tag worn on the patient’s wrist or ankle.

If that happens, the system alerts staff by making a call to their wireless receivers and thus they can respond immediately and prevent the patient from leaving.

This system allows residents to enjoy greater mobility within the centre and also greater security, as they cannot leave the premises without authorisation. It also provides greater peace of mind for families, as all exit points are protected and the residents cannot leave. Finally, carers work with less stress knowing that the residents are being monitored within the hospital and so they can get on with their other tasks and simply respond in the event of an unauthorised attempt to leave.

It is a reliable, easy-to-use and low cost system that can also be integrated with other existing systems at the centre.

Client:

The San Juan de Dios Hospital in Arrasate-Mondragón, a centre belonging to the Hospitaller Order of San Juan de Dios. The Centre has 280 beds divided into 4 care units.

Needs:

The centre has a laundry where 5 employees and between 10 and 15 patients work in sorting and folding garments.

The main problems facing the centre in regard to managing the laundry service before the Ibernex solution was implemented as follows:

- Lack of any possible traceability from the moment a dirty garment entered the laundry.

- Garment sorting by colour undertaken by patients was not sufficiently agile and intuitive.

-The time spent by assistant carers in sorting garments per patient was high.

- Finally, the centre has a small clothing store where there was no stock control.

Client:

Grupo Pikolin is leader in the bedding sector with eight production plants in Europe and two in Southeast Asia and a team of over 2,100 people.

Needs:

Provision of the latest technology at its new factory and corporate headquarters, the largest and most advanced logistics-industrial complex in Europe in the bedding sector with a surface area of 217,000 m2.

Solutions:

The new Pikolin headquarters has four function modules from our Safenex solution:

1. Vehicle access

In a complex as large as this, the number of vehicles and visitors entering and leaving is significant. The Vehicle Access module facilitates the management of these visits quickly and easily.

The software displays a list of the programmed visits and allows others that are not already programmed to be added. In addition, it automates staff entry access by registering and de-registering entry access cards.

The new Pikolin plant in Zaragoza, a benchmark in the use

of IP technology.

The solution, like the rest of the Safenex modules, enables customised reports to be generated:

In addition, its integration with the Subcontractors programme simplifies and unifies access control of subcontracted personnel and grants or denies access to the complex depending on the status of the documents required to enter the facilities.

2. Access and Presence

Precise and accurate access control to the various areas within the factory and offices is possible thanks to the Access and Presence module. The solution assigns or restricts access to certain areas for each individual person by using cards and readers with RFID technology.

3. Subcontractors

Designed to comply with Law 31/95 on the Prevention of Occupational Hazards in terms of Coordination of Business Activities, the Ibernex Subcontractor Management solution implemented at Pikolin ensures at all times that access by outside companies to the site is only possible when they have all their documentation in order.

In order to expedite the presentation of documents, the licence includes an online Portal that enables outsourced companies to manage all documentation electronically. For security purposes, documents sent electronically require validation by a Pikolin supervisor, who can either accept or reject them. External employees will not be able to access the site until all their documentation is validated.

To make work even more manageable, the system uses IP technology to notify outsourced company managers by e-mail of the need to renew any documentation that is about to expire. It also reminds the person in charge of reviewing them when documents are awaiting validation.

In addition to being able to consult all this documentation, you can also examine the status of current entities and generate customised reports. There are five pre-set reports:

• Participation in projects.

• Status of outsourced companies/employees.

• Documents belonging to active entities.

• Current documents.

• Documentation log.

4. Rounds

A complex of this size obviously needs a security and surveillance team to guarantee the protection of the facilities. The Rounds module provides a control mechanism to ensure security personnel complete the surveillance rounds allocated to them properly, as well as logging any incident they detect as they make their rounds.

Using an RFID reader that logs each time it detects a signal, security personnel swipe their tags located at each critical point along the route they are meant to take on their round. If the security guard detects an incident on the round, he swipes an incident tag to record the type of incident and the time it occurred.

The data is downloaded into Safenex and customised reports are generated that quickly read out the incidents detected and whether all control points on the round have been visited.

Client:

A Psychiatric Clinic in Pamplona, a private non-profit making centre specialising in caring for the mentally ill.

Needs:

Certain mental illnesses can lead to bouts of aggressiveness by patients towards healthcare staff, especially during the night shift, when the degree of risk is greater given that the number of staff on duty is lower.

Faced with such possible situations, the person in danger needs to be able to quickly notify colleagues of what has happened so they can come to his/her aid.

Well aware of the nature of these problems, the management at the centre set itself the target of guaranteeing the safety of all healthcare personnel, especially at the high-risk in-patients ward in the Psychiatry department.

Solution:

With the indoor location system developed by Ibernex, each worker wears a pendant tag so that, in the event they suffer any attempted aggression, they can press the button and automatically trigger an alarm. This alarm is sent to both the computers and mobile phones of other colleagues and indicates the exact location in the building of the person in need of help.

The system is possible thanks to the installation of a network of antennae strategically distributed throughout the building that enable the location of personnel.

The benefits of the indoor location system are:

The BTS division has a clear vocation to open up to new sectors that complement those which Ibernex has traditionally catered for.

One such new sector in this line of business is shopping centres which, in the same way as any other high occupancy building, are experiencing a growing need to enhance connectivity and the integration of technology.

TorreVillage is a great leisure and shopping project with a gross surface area of 57,000 m2 in the city of Zaragoza

(Spain). Designed to house fashion outlets and catering services, as well as international innovation in commerce centre, it is the largest retail complex specialising in outlet sales in the area.

In view of these new challenges, Ibernex was asked to take responsibility for the supply of a series of packages of technological equipment for the new TorreVillage complex.

The outcome of that proposal materialised in collaboration with several projects, some of which could be covered with Ibernex’s standard range of solutions, while others had to be tailor-made from scratch for the TorreVillage project.

Ibernex’s contribution in TorreVillage is present in the following applications:
