conditions described in this catalog and in the official documentation)

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

OF THE ENGINES

Resilient and reliable

all the materials used in the engine are carefully selected to resist high temperatures, stress and oxidation, especially the materials used on the hot side of the engine

Easy to build

the engine can be completely assembled with standard tools in a few hours by anyone with some degree of mechanical experience.

Use of Nitogen (air) instead of helium of hydrogen as operating gas

this allows the option to install the engine in remote locations

Versatility

our engine can be used with either gas burners or biomass furnaces such as those that use wood-chips, pellets, or similar fuels. We conducted tests with gas burners, pellets, wood and inverse flame furnaces without changing any of the aspects of the engine

It can easily be combined with pre-existing systems

allowing you to transform any heat generating system into a cogeneration plant.

The engine starts working at 700 degrees Celsius

and reaches the optimal performance point at 950 degrees. This temperature was used for all the tests reported in this document. However, thanks to the special materials used (AISI 310) the engine can work at temperatures as high as 950 degrees

MAINTENANCEAND SERVICE

Estimated maintenance

Every 3 mounths: visual inspection and pressure check.

Every year:visual inspection, pressure check and refill of Nitrogen.

Every 3 Years or 20’000 hoursinternal inspection.

If the engine is used with biomass or wood boilers it’s recommended to clean periodically the hot exchanger with an iron brush.

Service

It’s avaiable for free for the first 12 months from the delivery of the engine a remote monitoring service (phone charges excluded), after there will be an annual fee.

Repairs and restoration

Genoastirling Offers extraordinary maintenance services and/or the supply of all spare parts of the engine.

If the engine is used on heavy heat source it’s avaiable a restoration service of the heat excanhers (if is possible) to minimize the spare costs.

GUIDELINES FOR FURNACE INSTALLATION(1/2)

The engine can be installed on virtually any furnace if the combustion chamber is big enough to host the hot side of the heat exchangers. The furnaces can use solid (biomass and coal), liquid or gas fuel.

Gas or liquid fuel furnaces

Those are the one that usually present less problems. The flame is easier to control and “cleaner”. There are no melted ashes and the heat exchangers don’t get dirty from contact with the flame if the combustion is well calibrated. The constant temperature of the combustion chamber makes the exchange of heat easier.

Biomass furnaces

Wood, pellet and chip wood furnaces are all supported. Even reverse flame boilers or furnaces are supported.

Chipwood or pellet furnaces

Are the easiest to adapt to be used with our engines. The fuel provisioning can be controlled so that the heat is generated at a constant pace. They usually come with a burner at the bottom of the combustion chamber, this allows to position the heat exchangers on top of the burner and the ashes to fall on the side and not to stick to the exchangers. It is often possible to find an easy way to position the exchangers on the hot air flow before it reaches the water radiator. It is recommended to first heat the engine exchanger and afterward the water. Sometimes the pellet furnaces may have an external burner, in this case, the heat exchangers can be positioned in front of the flame so that both can be immersed in the flame at the same time.

Wood furnace

The positioning of the engine is equivalent to the pellet/chipwood one, but it requires a bit more planning and customization.

Reverse flame furnaces

With those kinds of furnaces the ashes are usually a bigger concern. The wood is above the combustion chamber and the flammable gas generated from the wood is pushed down in the combustion chamber trough a narrow opening under the wood. The problem is that along with the gas, the ashes are also falling down the opening. For this reason it is recommended to not place the exchanger under the gas opening.

Note: The general rule is that the heat exchangers need to be positioned right in the middle of the hot air flow in the furnace. Both the exchangers should receive as much heat as possible inside the combustion chamber.Is important that the entire body of the exchanger reaches a good operating temperature.

Moreover is important to avoid ashes depositing on the heat exchanger’s pipes. Ash deposits reduce the ability of the heat exchangers to conduct heat inside the engine.

GARANZIE SUL MOTORE GENOASTIRLING

Genoastirling Srl garantisce per un periodo di 12 mesi (fino a 5000 ore di utilizzo) dalla data di consegna del prodotto al Cliente, che ogni Motore Stirling GS, sarà esente da difetti di materiale e lavorazione, a condizione che il cliente acquisti il prodotto da GS o da rivenditore autorizzato da GS.

Ogni motore viene testato prima di essere consegnato per almeno due slot di 6 (sei) ore continuative e quindi senza difetti. Conformemente alla presente garanzia, ogni reclamo deve essere effettuato consegnando il prodotto da ispezionare a GS o ad un rivenditore autorizzato. Se il Cliente non è in grado di consegnare il prodotto ad un concessionario autorizzato o a GS, è possibile contattare GS e fornire il numero del motore e le foto delle parti danneggiate. Se il Cliente dovrà inviare il motore o uno o più componenti da ispezionare o riparazione, il trasporto sarà a carico del Cliente e prepagato. Il Cliente deve mostrare la copia della "ricevuta o la fattura di acquisto". Pertanto con la presente garanzia, gli obblighi di GS, saranno limitati alla riparazione del componente difettoso o alla sostituzione di uno o più componenti, o quello che sarà necessario per ogni malfunzionamento che viene da difetti di materiale o di lavorazione coperto dalla garanzia. La presente garanzia non copre le riparazioni, sostituzioni di componenti o di prestazione dei servizi dopo la data di scadenza della garanzia.

Nessuna responsabilità può essere imputata a GS o al rivenditore del Motore Stirling GS per ogni problema o danno diretto / indiretto a persone / cose / animali verificatisi durante tutta la vita del Motore Stirling GS. Tutte le parti sostituite come difettose o non conformi, durante gli interventi di garanzia, diverranno proprietà di GS.

La presente garanzia copre i danni al motore causati da: componente difettoso per forma o materiale, per progetto non conforme all'uso indicato, non corretto montaggio di GS.

Non sono coperti da garanzia idanni causati da:

• Normali parti usurate.

• Utilizzo di parti di ricambio non originali

• Negligenza, mancanza di manutenzione, incidenti, funzionamento anormale (per esempio per utilizzo di fonti di calore inadatte o temperature troppo elevate), installazione o manutenzione, altre cause che possono influenzare le cattive prestazioni del motore.

• Uso improprio o da maltrattamentodel motore.

• Norme sbagliate o di impostazione, omissione di controlli generici, mancata manutenzione come indicata dal produttore.

• Uso di accessori o componenti non suggeriti per questo motore.

• Alterazione o rimozione dei componenti.

• Una riparazione effettuata da personalenon autorizzato da GS.

• La mancata esecuzione, con intervalliregolari, delle procedure di manutenzione come indicate nel manuale di manutenzione

• Installazione non corretta del motore su caldaie o altri supporti.

• Modifiche al motore non autorizzate da GS.

• Ulteriori interventi di manutenzione richiesti dal cliente oltre alla garanzia.
