Summer Member Show This exhibition was open to all MFA members working in any original 2-D or 3-D media. Submissions representing 8 states and Washington D.C. totaled 334 artworks from 91 artists. The juror selected 61 works by 60 artists for exhibition. Works selected by the juror will be on exhibit in Circle Gallery from July 16 - August 8, 2020. Please visit our website to view the artwork images displayed on MFA’s Sales Gallery. NOTE: Due to Covid-19 space restrictions, MFA was unable to host the scheduled reception in Circle Gallery. CATALOG JUROR’S STATEMENT The shows at the MFA Circle Gallery are always exceptional, with a breadth of media, styles, and poetic points of view. The undertaking of selecting from over 350 entries to 60 is a bit daunting given the extent of talented applicants. While staying conscious of selecting a representative sampling of the wide-ranging mediums and styles, the final goal was to pare the selection down. This exhibition represents a vast and diverse body of artistic and poetic concerns. Within this assemblage lives abstraction and realism. It houses collage, painting, sculpture, photography, and digital media along with hybrid approaches. The poetics span the spectrum of human expression: from joyfulness to stillness, from sublime to outlandish, from dreamy to wide-awake, from sunny to darkness. These all reside at the MFA Gallery. It is an honor and delight to see so much talent, and to offer my selected medley of accomplished artwork to the public. It is a humbling and revealing experience to recognize yet again how much brilliance endures within our midst. Patrick M. Craig, Juror JUROR Patrick M. JUROR’S STATEMENT

The shows at the MFA Circle Gallery are always exceptional, with a breadth of media, styles, and poetic points of view.
