6. The Ombudsman- appointment, role and functions, powers (‘the toothless bull dog’)
7. Ethics in the legal profession- what is required of legal practitioners, disciplinary
action for breach of code of ethics etc.
8. The Constitution in securing fundamental rights and freedom- enshrining of

Magistrate that was suspended that delivered surprising sentences, all this occurring
outside of us having an act that deals specifically with sentencing)
15. Bail in Guyana- how obtained, types, need for a Bail Act that would regulate terms of
sentences.
