6. The Ombudsman- appointment, role and functions, powers (‘the toothless bull dog’)

action for breach of code of ethics etc.

conventions on fundamental rights

13. Rape- look at the recent Sexual Offences Act of 2010

14. Sentencing in Guyana- (Look at recent occurrences/disparity in sentencing locally-the

Magistrate that was suspended that delivered surprising sentences, all this occurring

outside of us having an act that deals specifically with sentencing)

15. Bail in Guyana- how obtained, types, need for a Bail Act that would regulate terms of

sentences.
