A charity partnership with Young Epilepsy will bring your company great benefits and make a big difference to the lives of young people.

Who are we? Young Epilepsy is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to changing the lives of children and young people with epilepsy. We have over 100 years experience in the education, treatment and care of young people with the condition.

What is epilepsy?Epilepsy is the most common serious neurological condition in childhood affecting, on average, one child in every primary school and five in every secondary school. Young people with epilepsy are more likely to suffer from bullying, low academic achievement and, very sadly, higher mortality rates.

Did you know, in the UK...• over 450,000 people have epilepsy – more than

112,000 of these are children and young people

• around 1150 people die every year from epilepsy – of these, 110 are children or young people

• up to 50% of these deaths may be preventable

• 37% of parents surveyed said their child had been excluded from school trips and extracurricular activities

• around one in three young people with epilepsy has mental health problems.

We really need your help to make a difference and change the lives of young people with epilepsy.

We need your support

Young Epilepsy has enjoyed a number of exciting and beneficial partnerships with a wide range of companies. Why not join in the fun?

What we do…Young Epilepsy is the only charity working solely to improve the lives of over 112,000 young people aged 25 and under with epilepsy in the UK. As the most common neurological condition in childhood, epilepsy affects one in 177 young people.

Working across the UK, our charity provides vital health and education information for parents, carers, children and young people with epilepsy and their families. We also provide training for doctors, nurses, teachers, therapists, residential care and social work professionals.

In addition to this, on our Surrey based campus we educate and care for almost 200 children and young people severely affected by epilepsy. Our special school and further education college (St Piers) are mainly residential, with students referred from all over the UK. Some are with us 52 weeks a year because the severity of their condition means they cannot be supported at home or in mainstream schools.

Young Epilepsy is dedicated to providing better futures for young lives with epilepsy!

“From the first time we visited, we knew that this was the place for Hannah. Everything here is tailored toward her epilepsy and there is always someone on the end of the phone.” John, Dad to Hannah, a school student
