    CAN ART SAVE LIVES?

If you are an artist or know any artist interested in using their skills of drawing or

painting to participate in this unique project, ART AGAINST DEATH, you are invited to

join in this activity B the main goal of which is to abolish the death penalty worldwide by

gathering as many signatures as possible of those who would like to see the abolishment

of the death penalty. ART AGAINST DEATH would be, I believe, the biggest

collaboration of people who really care about life and will be the greatest unifying effortever made in standing up for the right to live.

ART AGAINST DEATH is not only against the death penalty worldwide, but against

killing in general for any reason, whether political, religious, for revenge or to get rich.

Death is devastating to all affected by it and affects someone in all parts of the world.

Regardless of the reason or the actions behind it, killing must be abolished especially if

being done under the guise of being legal.

I, Jurijus Kadamovas, a Lithuanian citizen, started this project with Shannon Agofsky and

other fellow prisoners to show that peoples with different racial ethnicity, beliefs, religionand language can come together for positive action.

    TO PARTICIPATE

    1. Your art has to be created specifically for an ART AGAINST DEATH event.

    2. Your art has to be on canvas either 24 inches or 48 inches in height, with no limit

    as to length.

    3. Preferable media is acrylics but you can use other media available to you. (The

reason for acrylics is because it is easy to sign on top of acrylic art with markers

    and pencils.)

    4. You can collaborate on the same canvas with other artists, but you must includethe name of the artists on the reverse side of the artwork, along with any website

address of your work, the city and country you are from, and a short bio of the

artist. This will be an official part of the record.

    5. Please document your artwork with a photograph or video recording of the artist.

This will be your personal proof and may be used in a future documentary film or

to document the signature collection process.

    6. We will need your permission to use your artwork to gather signatures from other

people and organizations in your city/country who are willing to advocate for

abolition of the death penalty worldwide. This means that by contributing your

artwork to this project, you agree to allow the viewing public to sign your artwork

to express their opposition to the death penalty. After your artwork is completed

and signed by the artist, it will be sewn together with the artwork of others in theART AGAINST DEATH events and displayed as part of the biggest and longest

art collaboration ever created. It will be the largest part of a petition to abolish the

death penalty in the United States and other countries worldwide. Our intention is

to complete this effort for presentation before December 2012, when the United

National General Assembly will again vote on a resolution calling for a worldwide

halt to use of the death penalty.

We hope that the President and people of the United States of America will take the first

noble steps toward abolishing the death penalty in the United States, and set an example

for others to follow. The death penalty is immoral, inhumane and barbaric. The hope isto convince all that the RIGHT TO LIFE IS ONE OF THE UTMOST VALUES IN A

DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, and that abolishing the death penalty is essential for the

protection of this right and for full recognition of the inherent dignity of all human

    beings.

We invite each and everyone who would like to be a part of the ART AGAINST DEATH

project worldwide to join in this effort to have the death penalty abolished. We are

looking for people and organizations who will contact and organize signatures of people

willing to support the abolishment of the death penalty all over the world.

Reporters and others who will help to get people=s attention worldwide, along with any

ideas and support that you can provide, will not only be beneficial but greatly

    appreciated.

Thank you and God bless you,

    Sincerely,

P.S. If I am executed or die from other causes, I wish to donate my ashes, mixed withpaint, to those who will use it to continue collaboration of ART AGAINST DEATH.To such an extent, I still will be able to participate in this project literally until

    people stop killing each other.
