played beautifully. The aim of the performance was to
showcase the multi dimensional challenge of musicians
compressing THE INDIAN NAVAL BAND and instil
patriotism in the young minds of us, who are the future
citizens. It was a complete entertainment package for
an hour. At last a patriotic song was sung dedicated to
the Indian Soldiers, who lay down their lives to protect
our nation. A commander made the audience tap to
the tune with an energetic song MAMBO ITALIANO.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH BY
MR.GEORGE JOSEPH
The motivational speech was given in our school
on 14th December 2017 by George Joseph sir. We all
were shown many power point presentation of how to
control anger. The class was all about controlling
anger. Sir said that we develop anger by not caring
about animals or other people’s feelings. People don’t
accept their responsibility and show their aggression
by blaming others. People have a trouble bouncing
back from their frustrations. Due to this they act
without thinking and behave recklessly. So we should
learn to control our anger. This is the message that Mr.
George wanted to convey through his motivational
speech.

REPORT ON VISIT TO
CHELLANAM
As a part of charity, the students of KV INS
Dronacharya, Mundamveli got an inestimable chance
to visit the coastal areas of Companyppady, Chellanam
affected by the Ockhi cyclone since December 1, 2017
that has tremendously shaken all the residence of
Chellanam.
All the informed students of the Vidyalaya accurately
contributed for the charity mission and as the
denotation of our unity we were able to hand out more
than 25 sacks of rice and gram to the needy.
A few students of class 11th with the team of Scouts
and Guides set out on this generous mission at 11:30
am escorted by 3 of our teachers Hari sir, Sreekumar
sir and Mannish sir. They first arrived at the main
church of Chellanam at 12:30 pm, and they were taken
in by the church people. After getting down all the
sacks to the store room, they were provided with

refreshments, we interacted with the rector of the
church Father Vipin.
By 12:45 pm they reached the inmost Ockhi affected
area of Chellanam guided by a guy named Jithin who
exhibited us to all the obliterated spaces near the
seashore. It was really a touching sight for all of them.
After having an all-around observation of the place,
they interacted with victims and they shared their
experience in this crisis. Hundreds of women and
children have been shifted to relief camps and Cortina
Hospital of Chellanam. They still cannot forget the sight
of gigantic sea waves taking away all they had in their
possession. From our observation we found out that
receding waves have deposited black mud and debris
inside their houses and extensive cleaning works were
in progress.
The people there were extensively happy and
revitalized with our visit. By 1:30 pm we set out from
there and reached the school by 2:00 pm.
So always remember, WE MAKE A LIVING BY WHAT WE
GET, BUT WE MAKE A LIVING BY WHAT WE GIVE.

KV INS DRONACHARYA MAKES A SHORT FILM, "THE COLOUR OF
FEAR" The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Dronacharya, Kochi under the guidance of their
English teacher, Mr. Santhosh Kumar Kana, PGT-English, made a 8 minutes short film on
the topic FEAR for a competition (SCREEN SCAPES) held on 26.817 at Greets Public
School, Ernakulam.
1. SAMPADA MISHRA, XI-COMMERCE (LEAD ACTRESS)
One of the most difficult things about making a film is getting the right people to
do the right job. But fortunately it wasn’t much of a hassle for me . I knew I could
do it as all were my friends were with me in this team work. After the hard work of
two days our film was ready . Now looking back , I think it was a real good
decision to attempt making a short film. Most importantly I realised how draining
the film making process is . You need to be committed to your film in order to
complete it . It was actually a task of time management which really taught me the
importance of time in my life . The filmmaking process, I feel, is where I learnt the
most, especially on a topic such as FEAR which is quite an abstract topic. With the
help of our ENGLISH teacher MR.SANTHOSH KUMAR KANA the film hasn’t
remained that difficult even for amatseurs like me .
2. SHWETA YADAV, XI-COMMERCE (CAMERAPERSON) Making a short film was a “ great idea” and i was very excited . What I could
not predict was the amount of work it would take to get it done . We started
filming just 2 days before the submission date of the film. Although I loved the
idea given by our ENGLISH teacher MR. SANTHOSH KUMAR KANA , I
was reluctant to shoulder the amount of “ work” we had to do. But soon i got
over it and enjoyed the process. What was even more unexpected was the
amount of editing work that needed to be done. The editing work went on till
11 pm. The best thing I learnt from my experience is “ You can’t do all the
work yourself”. You have to share your work , share your ideas to get best
CAMPUS CHRONICLE E-NEWS LETTER
36 | P a g e K V I N S D R O N A C H A R Y A
results and that is why there are so many credits at the end of a movie. The
shooting process was fun , and I would love to do it again ( but not in the same
way again, of course with new resources).Looking back , I think it was a really
good decision to attempt making a short film.
3. ANUSHKA SHAG, XI-COMMERCE ( DIRECTOR) The short film is considered the stepping stone to making a feature .I had a great
experience while shooting this short film. Though I didn’t expect it would be
such a lengthy process for shooting a 8 minutes short film, I got to know my
potential of performing activities besides academies . Movies touch our hearts
and awaken our vision , and the way we see things . They take us to new places
, they open doors of imagination. There were many challenges that we came
across such as figuring out how to do it, where you can make them personal
and deliver to an audience. The important thing which I learnt is
TEAMWORK and how it divides work and multiplies success. Finally I would
like to make films that are somehow born out of me that are stories I want to tell
. My sincere thanks to Santhosh Kana Sir and all those who made it a success.
4. RINI ANNA KURIAN, XI-COMMERCE
( CASTING DIRECTOR ) I had a great experience while shooting this short film. First it was difficult for
me to select who to give which part. For the selection of actor I asked them to
act a scene in the film and selected the actor . I was afraid how to instil the
character in her and was also tensed while choosing the cameraperson.
Everyone did their best and I was happy about it . I also learnt what mindset we
should have while acting different characters . I thank Santhosh Sir for giving
me this great opportunity.

SYNOPSIS
Duration: 7 mts. 50 sec.
This short film depicts a few moments in the life of a teenage
girl when left alone at home. It analyses her fear, insecurities
and anxieties which moves from the personal to the general
hinting at a social reality where girls and women are unsafe
and live in fear. Ammy, the teenage girl, enlightened by her
brief stint with fear, gives it a creative edge by painting the
experience. Experience coupled with imagination lead to
creative expression (here, painting).

Our school celebrated Christmas on 22nd of

conducted which made all the students tap
their feet with the rhythm. And then the man
arrived for which all the students were
waiting the Santa Claus who came with lots of
smile and joy on all faces. He made all the
students happy and rejoice. A Christmas
celebration is incomplete without a Christmas
message. So the Christmas message was given
by Mrs Mary Joice mam. At last our principal
mam conveyed warm greetings of Christmas
and New Year. The celebration was concluded

MY GOD
My God is so great, so strong and so mighty
There’s nothing my God cannot do
The mountains are his,
The rivers are his,
The stars are his too.
My God is so great, so strong and so mighty
There’s nothing my God cannot do.
He fashioned the trees,
The rivers and seas,
And painted the sky royal blue...
He made us with love
Sent straight from above
And gave us his wisdom too...
My God is so great and, so strong and so mighty
There’s nothing my god cannot do....

SCHOOL
School life is so much fun,
For prayer we stand in the morning sun.
We have friends in a bunch,
And we love to share our lunch.
Teachers help us to acquire knowledge,
And for this we have to pay respect.
School life is a time of joy,
Because it’s full of joy.
So enjoy our school life,
Because it is the best part of our life.

RACHEL-THE SHINING STAR It was Christmas eve. Rachel, an eight year old girl,
was trying to sell her woollen mufflers. But to her bad
luck, no one bought any muffler from her. She was
shivering with cold. Her only woollen cloth was the torn
old sweater. Rachel’s father and mother were no more.
She lived with her parental aunt in a tiny cottage at the
hills. Her aunt was so cruel that she would not give place
for Rachel to sleep. Rachel was like a slave in that house.
That day, she was not able to sell her muffler. When she
reached home, her aunt was waiting for her angrily foe
being so late. After giving her much scolding, as a
punishment aunt told her not to get inside. She sat on the
ground crying. She looked at the sky. The sky was
surrounded with countless stars. The stat near the moon
was the most shining star. She considered that star as her
mother. She said“oh mother, don’t you see my pain?
Please protect me...”The next moment, her mother
appears before her! She asked, “dear daughter, don’t stay
here. Come with me. Lets join forever”. Rachel was so
happy andwent with her mother to the sky and they
joined forever in the sky as shining stars!

ADORE YOUR LIFE
We all have just one life. We should enjoy our life
today, because yesterday is gone and maybe tomorrow
may never come. Enjoying our life simply can give us a
great pleasure. We all should stop comparing ourselves
with others, because if we are busy comparing with
others we may never be happy for ourselves. We all
know life is very short, time goes very fast and we can’t
replay nor rewind the time, so we must learn to enjoy
every moment as it comes. We may not get good
moments every time although we should try to make
the bad days even better for our self. Life may be
difficult but when we pass through these difficult levels
it may lead to beautiful ending. So make every day, and
every moment special.

IMPORTANCE OF TRUST IN
ONE’S LIFE.
To achieve success the first and foremost step is to
have self trust. Getting trust from someone take a real
effort. Building trust takes a lot of years but breaking it
takes just a second. We should never break someone’s
trust, promise and heart. It’s a sad truth that if we
really hurt someone with our words or action it can
always be in their mind even if they have a smile on
their face. Moreover forgiving someone who broke
your trust isn’t the hardest part. But the real difficulty
comes to trust them again. In every single bond we
build trust without it we have nothing. So I would like
to conclude that never ever break someone’s trust
because ones it’s lost, it is lost forever.

YOUTH IS A GIFT
This time of youth we all should enjoy at every
moment. Because we won’t be younger again than we
are at this moment. It is a fact that almost everything
that is great is always been done by youth. The youth is
always a gift of god, but utilizing this age is always been
an artwork. But as we all know we are never too young
nor never too old to change the world, it’s just a
matter of utilization of time. And the main hope of
nation always lays on the proper education of youth to
upbringing the country. The main concept of youth is
that in youth we learn many things but in age we
understand the value of what we learnt.
