OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF HERITAGE RIDGE SOUTH PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION FEBRUARY 2020
AT HERITAGE RIDGE SOUTH CAMBRIDGE
Originating as a Western Christian feast
day honoring one or two early saints
named Valentinus, Valentine’s Day is
recognized as a significant cultural, reli-
gious, and commercial celebration of ro-
mance and romantic love in many regions
around the world
Today, many of those same traditions
are visible as lovers send bouquets of
flowers and chocolates to one another on
Valentine’s Day. Sure, we think of Val-
entine’s Day as a holiday for couples,
however, it’s also a day to celebrate the
many loves and friendships in our lives.
So, go ahead and show your love to any-
one you feel a special bond with! Love is

DIRECTOR’S CORNER
MONTHLY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Wednesday, February 19, 2020 7:00 PM at the Clubhouse
The Agenda Meeting will be at 10 AM
on February 17, 2020
The Association is responsible for enforcing the Community’s cove-nants, bylaws, and rules and regula-tions. Sometimes, a neighbor’s egre-gious actions are not covered by our Bylaws, such as someone who may be causing an unhealthy environ-ment that attracts rodents or an inoperable vehicle issue. The first step of any concern about a neighborhood property is to report the issue to the Association. The Association will have a Board mem-ber inspect the property and deter-mine if the violation falls under pro-visions of the governing documents. If there are no governing document provisions for the alleged undesira-ble actions, a complaint can be filed with the Martin County Code En-forcement on line at: martin.fl.us/Code Enforcement. Just click on the arrow on ’Code Violations’ to see common code violations or fill out the form to report a suspected code violation. As are you, the Board of Directors is very concerned about the stability, health and financial viability of Cam-bridge. However, our authority is limited to the provisions in the Sec-tion Covenants and the Bylaws. We look forward to working with all members to keep Cambridge GREAT!

ALL STREETS AND ALL HOURS IN CAMBRIDGE
CRIME WATCH BY FAYE BALES & GILL WELBES— Even though Christmas has past, potential burglars are still keeping a watch on our homes! The Martin County Sheriff’s Office stated there were 15 attempted car burglaries in East Stuart recently. Thirteen of those burglaries were successful since the owners left their cars un-locked. Of those unlocked vehicles, several had garage door openers or extra house keys in them, allowing access to their homes. Don’t pro-vide criminals with the tools to get into your homes! Assure your safety and lock your vehicles Make sure any valuables in your vehicles are removed or at least out of sight.
At the recent Board /Annual Meeting on January 22, 2020, repre-sentatives from the Sheriff’s Office were in attendance, along with Commissioner Harold Jenkins and a member of the Engineering, Parks & Roads Department, to answer ques-tions from Cambridge residents re-garding speeding cars and increased traffic through Section 1 since Dollar General has been operating at the main entrance on Constitution Blvd. It was suggested that we continue with the petition that has been started—we need signatures repre-senting more than 50% of the HOMES in Cambridge in order have the county conduct a traffic study and make recommendations. The Commissioner asked the resi-dents to give them 3 months to evaluate the problem. They will plan to return to the April Board Meeting with recommendations . Officer Merrifield with the sheriff’s Dept agreed to investigate the possi-bility of placing an unmanned police car at strategic areas in the Commu-nity. To sign the petition, please contact Gilda Welbes (listed in directory) or stop by the office to include your signature.
VETERANS CARING FOR VETERANS A box will be at the main entrance of the Clubhouse for anyone wishing to donate a personal item for our veterans in need. These items can be toothpaste, deodorant, mouth-wash, soap, etc. Also, anyone wishing to donate an afghan or small blanket of any kind, new or used, please contact Cam-bridge resident Jim Puhala @ (413)374-7402 or e-mail him at [email protected].

Would like to share with everyone my recent marriage to LeRoy Kehoe which happened on February 1! Looking forward to an exciting future! We are now into the second month of 2020! I hope your New Year’s Reso-lutions are still going strong! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. It is a day to show your spouse or friend just how much you love and care for them. Do something fun—go out to dinner, to a movie, bowling, a long walk in the park, visiting a muse-um, etc. Or, maybe just a quiet romantic dinner at home followed by Netflix or a night of games. Whatever you choose, do it with love! Show that special person how much you enjoy spending time with them. Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Rhonda Kehoe C-Breeze Editor

The Shuffleboard team wants to wish everyone a great Happy New Year! 2019 has seen a lot of changes, good and bad. We are hoping that 2020 will be good to all. January 8, 2020— Cambridge traveled to Pine Lake Vil-lage and won one of three matches – our team had to borrow two players to make our team. January 15, 2020—Cambridge hosted Leisure Village and won all three matches. We want to welcome Pat and John Knapp back to Cambridge. Practices are each Mon and Tues at Cambridge @ 1 PM. All residents are welcome to come out and join us!
SPECIAL THANK YOU The Board would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make the An-nual Picnic a HUGE success—from those that helped set up and break down the tables, the condiment chefs, and the grill masters. Everyone worked hard so the community could have an enjoyable Saturday after-noon. Without volunteers our Community would not be able to offer special events for our residents!
