COURSE OUTLINE I. Catalogue Description MU 335 Seminar for Music Industry Studies (1 unit)
Weekly seminar examining and discussing issues involved with the music and entertainment industries. Topics may also include making presentations, business practices, and research methods. May be repeated up to 3 units. 1 hour seminar. Prerequisite: MU 104
II. Required Background or Experience
Prerequisite: MU 104 Careers in Music. III. Expected Outcomes Students will:
1. Learn an introduction to research techniques and organizational methods for presentations. 2. Learn how to make effective presentations. 3. Learn how to effectively write summaries of book chapters or articles. 4. Learn common practices of business etiquette. 5. Learn how to create an annotated bibliography.

2. Write summaries of articles or book chapters. 3. Make presentations on musical topics of interest. 4. Attend Music Industry Studies senior projects, concerts and special events.

1. Lectures, student involvement through discussions based on readings, lectures, subjects and hypothetical problems.
2. In-class discussions and presentations. IX. Evaluation
