The big, bold heading of the site makes it clear that this is the home page of the artist Alex Clare.

The site layout is clear with obvious links to other pages

without too much happening and over whelming the

target audience.

The colour scheme of the site is beige and

black emphasising the genre of Alternative

Rock as the site itself is very low-key but dramatic. The natural colour scheme also puts an

emphasis on his music rather than his

image. This is also seen by how the home

page contains no images of Alex Clare himself.

His most recent album is also advertised on the site giving visitors a chance to

listen to his album.

There are clear links to relevant information that Alex Clare

fans would like to know such as tour dates, a gallery and his

music.

The website advertises Alex Clare’s new track with Rudimental and John Newman before it has been fully

released so that fans are able to listen before everyone else.

This indicates he is still going strong in the music industry and is working with a range of artists outside his genre as

Rudimental and John Newman are generally associated with Drum and Bass.

The site is also linked to social networking sites such as Facebook meaning that members and

visitors of the site can like videos and tracks and share them with the rest of their Facebook

community.

The home page puts the most

important extracts from each page

on to the home page so that it is

easier for fans to find relevant

information they are looking for.

These are two different versions of Alex Clare’s first album ‘The

Lateness Of The Hour.’

The image on the front cover has a relevance to the

songs on Clare’s album. For example there is a

hummingbird on the cover to symbolise his song

‘Hummingbird’ and a clock for his song ‘Lateness of

the Hour.’

Both the name of the album and

artist is in capitals but the name

of the artist is in bold drawing

the audiences eye despite the

lack of colour.

Alex Clare is promoted in the same ways across both his website and albums by using

no photos of him only the one shown on his album, a natural colour scheme of beige,

white and black and by using only his name to catch the audience’s attention.

We are given no clues about Alex

Clare’s persona or personality

through his albums or website.

These are two different versions of Alex Clare’s first album ‘The

Lateness Of The Hour.’

Neither albums suggest anything about Alex Clare’s possible genre or

target audience, although the bland and natural colours and lack of

picture hint at an alternative rock genre as other bands such as The Script,

Linken Park and Foo Fighters also do this.

There is no obvious link to target audience on his albums or his website except for the photos posted on

there which hint at a teenage/young adult audience that enjoy clubbing and listening to dubstep, indie

and/or alternative music.

Neither album covers have a photo of Alex

Clare on them. This shows that the emphasis is

on his music rather than his image.
