Nicole is our new P.E teacher and Kelly joins our Learning Support team working with classes across the school. Congratulations to English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher Kristen Raboude who recently announced her pregnancy. Kristen is due in January. Parent Opinion Surveys As part of our school’s accountability requirements, a Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) Parent Opinion Survey has been sent to an electronically generated random sample of parents this week. The findings of this survey provides very important information to our school as it informs us of your perceptions in relation to our school’s climate (approachability, homework, learning focus, school improvement), student behaviour (student safety, classroom behaviour) and student engagement ( student motivation, school connectedness, peer connectedness). We use this to plan, reflect upon and evaluate the effectiveness of our school’s improvement journey. If you have been selected please ensure that you take the time to complete and return the surveys by Monday 1 st August in the envelope provided. UNSW Science results Credit, Distinction and High Distinction certificates for the University Of New South Wales Science tests undertaken last term will be presented at assembly on Monday morning. Children who received a Participation certificate or were absent on the day will have their results returned to classrooms for distribution and acknowledgement. Help Those Who Need It The Most Five students in L5R have decided to help some charities as part of their Genius Time projects. Groups we have chosen are: rhinos, the pandas, the homeless, and the diabetic. We will be running a stall at the Sunday Camberwell Market selling used clothing, the date it to be confirmed. Please bring in all your old/used clothing that we could sell, all shapes and sizes, every piece counts! There will be a box labelled ‘Used Clothing for Genius Time’ at the front office. Fathers Day BBQ – Saturday 30th July. Calling all Auskick Dads/family friends (and mums) ! This Saturday at Auskick we will be celebrating an early Fathers Day with the annual 100 metre dash, tug of war, longest kick, and the most loved by the kids Dad vs Kids game! Last week at after school care we implemented Camp Australia’s new healthy eating program.

Camp Australia is committed to ensuring that children in our care receive a variety of healthy food choices to meet

their nutrition requirements for a healthy body and mind. We also ensure that our Educators are supported in their

important role of helping children develop a positive attitude towards healthy choices.
