Rotterdam – Seinehaven: The facility is built on an area of 190.000 m2 and has a roofed warehouse capacity of 80.000 m2. The terminal is road an quay connected and a crane is available to unload vessels and barges. The state-of-the-art warehouses offer safe storage for dangerous goods as well as non-dangerous goods. Dan-gerous goods of IMO class 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 6.1, 8 and 9 can be stored according to the segregation and fire-protection regulations in place. For solids, the terminal offers possibilities to receive (sea) bulk containers which can be unloaded into intermedi-ate storage silos. From the silos it is possible to repack into a variety of packing types such as bigbags, octabins or 25 kg bags. In order to rebulk, the facility operates various possibilities to rebulk granules or solids from pac-kages into a silotruck or container.

Besides storage of liquid packed chemicals, Steinweg offers possibilities to repack ISO tanks into drums or IBC or from package to package, as well as heating in a hotbox, or storage in a temperature controlled warehouse.

The Seinehaven is closely connected to the highway and can easily be used as a hub location to import or export chemicals from and to Europe.

Shanghai - Waigaoqiao: Being the first overseas extension for the Chemical & Plastics division, the Shanghai – Waigaoqiao chemical warehousing complex was established in 2008 and is located in the Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone which is part of the China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The chemical warehousing facility offers possibilities for bonded storage of packed chemicals of IMO classes 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 (including hyper toxic chemicals), 8 and 9 as well as a container yard for the storage of ISO containers.

The location has a total area of 32.000 m2 with a warehouse capacity of 7.200 m2 for hazardous materials (Class A and B warehouses) and 6.000 m2 for non-hazardous materials (Class C warehouse).

The class A warehouse has a capacity of 2.400 m2 and has an identical lay-out of the warehouse in Rotterdam and offers a safe and efficient storage for packed chemicals of IMO classes 2, 3, 4.1 and 5.1. The warehouse is divided in compartments with individual adjustable temperature levels.

The class B warehouse has a capacity of 4.800 m2 and is suitable to store IMO class 6.1, 8 and 9 products.

The C class warehouse is used to store non-dangerous goods and also offers temperature controlled storage facilities.

Tianjin: Although not operational yet, the construction of the chemical warehouse in Tianjin goes as planned and is due to be operational second half 2015. The blueprint for this warehousing complex is similar to Shanghai and the Tianjin facility will have a land area of 50.000 m2, therefore consisting of 60% more land area compared to the Shanghai facility. The basic set up of this facility is the same as Shanghai with A, B and C warehouses and a container yard. Specifically the Tianjin facility will consist of 2 Class A warehouses of 1.500 m2 each, 1 class B warehouse of 5.600 m2, and 1 class C warehouse of 7.000 m2. The facility will be bonded (customs supervised) as well as non-bonded.

Johannesburg / Durban: In early 2014, Steinweg started developing chemical storage in South-Africa. Initially a warehouse of 9.500 m2 was altered to be able to store IMO class 5.1, 6.1, 8 and 9 packed chemicals. Further developments are foreseen in the coming years in both Johannesburg and Durban where Steinweg is already present with storage of non-dangerous products.
