E-mail: [email protected] Sir/Madam,
My outgoing personality, my working experience and my recently completed education make me a strong candidate for the advertised position.I recently graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in Science majoring in Biochemistry and Information Systems and where I am a lifetime member of the USYD Information Systems Society and where I worked on a six month IT project involving the development of an interactive knowledge management website for students.
My employment at Woolworths as a member of its management team has enabled me to acquire a great variety of skills and expertise in the retail industry. My initial duties involved customer service, cash registry operations and area maintenance. In a year, I progressed to the delicatessen and within six months I began duties as the assistant manager. In November of last year I was given the opportunity to run the department as a relief manager for a few weeks. It has allowed me to develop excellent leadership and managerial skills, exceptional customer service and communication as well as time management and organisational skills. Above all, it has given me a greater sense of responsibility as I have had to answer not only to higher management but have also dealt with staff and customer issues in a fast and responsive manner.
I have the maturity, skills and ability to embark on a career in Information Systems. I have strong written and oral communication skills, I am self-motivated and I am able to work both independently as an individual and as a team player whenever it is required. I am ambitious and hardworking. I pick up new skills quickly and I am able to prioritise and multi-task.
Please see the attached resume for more details regarding my educational background and skills level as well as my working experience.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing more about this position from you. You can contact me on +61 410 808 832 or email me at [email protected] at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
Beverly Young
