The Nyingma Gyudbum collection reproduced in Delhi by the Late Dilgo KhyentseRinpoche based on the Tingkye version. The Nyingma Gyudbum contains tantraswhich were allegedly received and translated in Tibet during the earlier propagationof Buddhism in 8'h and 9'h centuries. However, some later masters rejected theirauthenticity claiming that they are Tibetml creations without Indic origin. Buton, thecompiler of Tibetan canons, omitted the tantras from the traditional cmlOnicalcollections of kangyur and tangyur. Their adherents gathered them into a different setoftantras known as Nyingma Gyudbum. Before the cultural revolution, it is believed

that there were over a hundred different versions of the Nyingma Gyudbum. Todaythere are only about seven versions available, the most reliable being a manuscriptversion in Bhutan.
