Axis Powers • The Nazi Perspective
“Demilitarized Germany”. The shaded areas are regions demilitarized under the Treaty of Versailles.
“Military expenditures by the Great Powers”. The chart to the left is per capita military expenditures. The chart to the right is military expenditures as a percentage of the overall budget. The chart suggests that Germany is being outspent by surrounding countries.
The text below the title reads: "Citizens! Do not believe that the Germany of misfortune and misery, the nation of corruption and usury, the land of Jewish corruption, can be saved by parties that claim to stand on a foundation of facts. Never!"
The caption reads: "Two million dead. Did they die in vain? Never! Front soldiers! Adolf Hitler is showing you the way!" The claim is that Hitler will redeem Germany from the loss of World War I.

Allied Powers
• The first major film about America’s defeat in the Pacific, Wake Island, was portrayed as a victory because the heroics of Wake's defenders delayed the Japanese while America recovered from the Pearl Harbor attack.
Women on the Home front
• America needed it's women to go to work to build the planes, tanks, and ships needed to fight Hitler. World War II, more so than any other war, was a war based on production.
Rosie the Riveter
Working Women
Women working as welders in a plant that produced B-25 and P-51 fighter planes.
Women accounted for one-third of Air Force pilots during WWII.
Women outside America
Thousands of Russian women volunteered as fighter pilots.
The ATS portrayed as glamorous to British women
Malmedy Massacre
• They made memorial wall that list 84 names off the ones who died at the Malmedy Massacre.
• They were all executed by the German army.
