WHAT IS VITILIGO?• This disease causes loss of skin color in blotches.

• When melanin-forming cells (melanocytes) die or stop producing melanin is called vitiligo.

• It can affect any part of the skin on your body.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES?• According to mayoclinic.org doctors don't know why the

cells fail or die.

• It may be related to:

• A disorder in which your immune system attacks and destroys the melanocytes in the skin.

• Family history (heredity).

• A trigger event, such as sunburn, stress or exposure to industrial chemicals.

SYMPTOMS• Patches of the skin become lighter or white.

• Whitening or graying of the Hair on your scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows or beard. (before age 35)

• Lose of tissue that line the inside of your mouth and nose.

TREATMENT/CURES• Creams the control inflammation.

• Some form of vitamin D

• Medication That affect the immune system like ointments containing tacrolimus or pimecrolimus.

• Light Therapy.

• Laser Therapy.

• Skin Graphing.
