Staff and Governors at the school are writing our Anti-Bullying Policy. And we need your help.
We need to know your thoughts and ideas on how we can ALL contribute to everybody feeling safe and confident in and around
the school.
So, we asked Buxton Voices some questions and this is what they told us……

What is Bullying?
• Being rude to people and not caring
• More than one person that keeps hurting people
• Causing people constant pain• You do something constantly and
when you are being mean over and over again
• Being mean to others• Bullying is repetitive action• Hurting emotionally and physically• When someone constantly repeats
acts of nastiness that offends a person
• Hurting someone’s feelings deliberately

What are the different types of Bullying?
• Emotional• Homophobic• Physical• Cyber• Rumours/Gossip• Sexism• Racism• Peer pressure• Transgender• Verbal• Violent

• Paranoia• Fear• Depression• Suicidal thoughts• Anger• Disappointment• Emotionally scarred• Sadness• Low self esteem• Isolation• Bullying = bullying• No confidence
What are the effects of bullying?

• Address the bully and negotiate• Tell their parents• Give them longer detentions• Make them do community service• Ban the bully from activities
(clubs/ACE week)• Call the police• Exclude the bullies• Talk to students separately• Hear both sides• Talk about consequences• Keep a close eye on students

Next Friday for years 7, 8 and 10
To raise money for BBC Children in Need on Friday 14th November Buxton students and staff came in to school in their pyjamas (Primary) and literary heroes (Secondary). We managed to raise an amazing
£1,448.20. Thank you to everyone, especially parents, who supported this project. In this picture Buxton Voices show off the cheque with pride.
