Under 6/7s FAQs The following FAQs have been compiled from the most asked questions by parents new to the club. How much is membership? Membership costs £85 for under 6s and 7s. If membership is paid by 29

th September the cost is £80. There is a new direct debit facility

available. You can pay for membership in the club house at the bar or over the next few weeks where a dedicated desk is in operation. What do I get for my membership? Your membership pays for ground maintenance, insurance, CRB checks for coaches and volunteers, training courses for the coaches including first aid and training equipment such as balls. Your membership card entitles you to discount at the bar. Your membership cost equates to each hour of training/playing costing £1 over the season. When will my child play an actual game / tournament? A list of fixtures will be circulated via e-mail. We embrace the ‘rugby for all’ ethos at this club which ensures all players will play in tournaments and festivals – there are no ‘A’ or ‘B’ teams. What kit does my child need? Players will require black shorts, black socks and a club shirt. These items are available at the well stocked Club Shop in the Clubhouse. We recommend ‘skins’ and gloves on colder days which are also available from the shop. Rugby boots should be worn with kite marked studs. Coaches will make regular stud checks and it is recommended that you bring alternative footwear (Crocs are great) for players to wear after training. Players should avoid walking on concrete areas with studs on. Football type ‘blades’ are not allowed. Where does my child train? Under 6s and 7s train on the All Weather Pitch behind the clubhouse. Rugby boots can be worn on this surface. What time does my child start and finish? Training commences at 1000 hrs and usually finishes about 1130 hrs. These times may be adjusted depending on fixtures. Can I leave my child whilst they train and are they safe? A parent or nominated adult should be available at all times whilst your child is training or playing. There is no ‘drop and go’ facility. If you leave your child at the club you must ensure the coach is informed who the nominated adult (friend or relative) is before you leave. We are looking to ensure all coaches and volunteers are CRB checked. Is there a first aider available at all games and training sessions? There are a number of trained first aiders at the club and we intend running more courses. There will be sufficient equipment available at training sessions and matches. What happens if it rains? Training continues in the rain. Please ensure you bring warm clothes if it is likely to rain as small children become cold quickly. Are the coaches paid or volunteers? All coaches and committee members are volunteers who give their time for the love of rugby. What else can the club offer? We would encourage members to use the clubhouse where you can buy drinks including great beers, teas and coffees. The full English breakfast served on Sundays is outstanding! Your youngsters will enjoy tucking in to sausage and bacon rolls after training. We encourage all club members to support the senior teams. Full details can be found on the club website above. Who can I contact for any questions and how? The Chair of minis is Olly Jackson ([email protected] 07974 132159 ) and Vice-Chair Neil Ireland ([email protected] 07870 227823 )
