Critical Functions of NSF INCLUDES Alliances

• Develop vision and strategy with relevant metrics of success and key milestones/goals

• Contribute to the knowledge base on broadening participation in STEM

• Develop multi-stakeholder partnerships

• Establish a “backbone” or support organization

• Advance a logic model that identifies outcomes

Vision

• Create a cross-state alliance of formal education system partners that are committed to systems change that creates a culture of success for every student in STEM and CTE, ultimately leading to a more diverse STEM workforce.

Mission/Common Agenda

• Broaden participation and close achievement gaps in 7-12 and undergraduate STEM education and CTE, by scaling effective practices that close these gaps at the critical junctures that currently limit participation of underrepresented students in STEM career pathways.
