The Faculty of Financeand Accountancy ispart of BudapestBusiness School, thelargest businessschool in Hungary.Budapest BusinessSchool’s vision is to

Study Programmes of BBS FFA The Faculty of Finance and Accountancy offers the followingprogrammes:

• Higher vocational training for assistants in banking,accounting, business information systems or projectmanagement. The two-year diploma programme preparesgraduates to meet the expectations of the job market, butthey can also enrol in one of the Faculty’s undergraduateprogrammes, if they meet the given requirements.

• BA (Undergraduate) programmes in the following areas1. Finance and Accounting2. Human Resources Management3. Business Economics and Management 4. Business IT

The training takes 7 semesters, 6 of which are in class andone semester is for internship. The students start with asemester of introduction, followed by six semesters ofundergraduate courses. As shown in the following chart, thestudents get increasingly more specialised training in thecourse of their studies:

The programmes of Business Economics and Management andof Finance and Accounting are also offered for part-time learners.The part-time programmes are planned for 8 semesters.

The Finance and Accounting programme is offered in English.As we know that not all of the students have interest inaccounting and finance, we combined this programme with awide choice of management courses. The stucture of thetraining does not depend on the language of the programme.

(BBS-FFA) Budapest Business School – Faculty of Finance andAccountancy is one of the branches of Budapest BusinessSchool. The FFA is located a few miles from the centre of the cityand is easily accessible by public transportation. The campusconsists of a few buildings close together in a leafy area on thePest side of the capital.

The Vision of Budapest Business School To become one of the leading institutions of highereducation nationally and in Central and Eastern Europe in thefield of business studies and related disciplines at the levels ofundergraduate and graduate training and in continuingeducation. Budapest Business School (BBS) is a higher educationinstitution with wide-ranging international relations. It has activeconnections with 183 foreign higher education institutions in 42countries on five continents.

Types of international cooperation can fall into the followingcategories of relations:1. Strategic cooperation: cooperation agreements based on dualaward programmes, joint studies, research and projects.

2. Relations based on student, teacher and staff mobility withinthe framework of the Erasmus programme.

3. Bilateral educational, research and scientific cooperationoutside the scope of the Erasmus programme.

The History of the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy Budapest Business School was established as a result of theHungarian higher education integration – the College ofCommerce, Catering and Tourism (CCCT), the College ofInternational Management and Business (CIMB), and the Collegeof Finance and Accountancy (CFA) – were merged. The presentscope of the FFA was formed in 1953, when the College ofAccountancy was established.

In the past years not just the institution and the number of thestudents have expanded, but also a claim for higher level ineducation has appeared.

The accession to the European Higher Education Area was aprominent change in the FFA’s life. It is called the Bologna Process.There are some expanded alternatives, which make the choiceeasier for students.

The Most Wanted Business Degree Most of our graduates embark on careers in the accountingand financial professions, including work for large multinationalcompanies and big accounting firms. We especially take pride inthe success of some of our alumni who now occupy outstandingpositions in the dynamically developing Hungarian businesscommunity.

In 2011, nation-wide 22.86 % of applicants for business studiesbegan their studies at BBS (the 4 Faculties combined).

• the Sziget Festival, which is annually organized on an island onthe Danube in Budapest. Moreover the VOLT and the Valley ofArts, which is organised in Kapolcs and nearby.

After Orientation The organisers throw Orientation Week After-Parties so thatthe excellent atmosphere of the camp will continue. Also outsidethe school, in the most elegant and the most prestigious pubs ofBudapest, there are Weekly FFA Parties.

The Initiation For the first year studentsthere will be a freshers' ball held.

This ball is directly for and aboutthe freshmen organized in theWhite Angel Club.

Usually the participants wearelegant and fashionable clothes.

The ’Never-Ending’ College Days

Not just the FFA, but also theother Faculties of BBS willorganise College Days. This eventlasts 3 days and contains lots ofexciting programmes. Thestudents and teachers can choosethe best for themselves (e.g. thebeer tent, the cooking

competition, the make-up artists, the football match, the extremesport facilities, etc.)

Life in the FFA’s Hall of Residence

The management of the FFA tries to make life in the hall ofresidence more colourful. And they organise the Days of the Hallof Residence. The students can take part in tea house programmes,the Gulliver cup (football), and nesting programmes.
