Bud features the adventures of a magical sprite who isthe embodiment of the spirit of childish make-believe.

Bud can y, change size, turn into different animals orplay a wide variety of characters in magical adventures.

In addition to his magic powers, Bud possesses achildish spirit of innocent curiosity which enhancesthe sense of delight and surprise which he feels as he

discovers the wonders of the world around him.

He is joined in his adventures by friends such asBill the Ballpoint Penguin, the Spelling Bees,

Tommy More and Penny Less, and the musical quartetof Ping, Pong, Boom and Toot. As well as joining in thegeneral fun and games, Buds friends also have learning

features related to shapes, colours, letters, numbers,music and sounds.

Fizz and vinegar are also brought to the mix by the

presence of Ned and Scruff, the personications ofchildish naughtiness and confusion.

Songs, stories, fun and games will ensure thatentertainment is the principal ingredient ofthe series, with learning elements enjoyably

incorporated into its content.

All the episodes will have fun-lled storylines andlearning themes, and there will also be strong

elements of child involvement as young viewersare invited to help Bud to solve puzzles, discover

surprises and join with him in playing games,singing songs and exploring the wonders of

his magical world.

BILL THEBALLPOINT PENGUIN

Bill the Ballpoint Penguinhas the wonderful

ability to draw with his beak.He can draw the most beautiful pictures or the

simplest shapes which he can illuminatewith brilliant colours from his magic palette.

Bud can enter into Bills pictures and explore thewonders waiting to be discovered

in those brightly-coloured worlds of the imagination.

THE SPELLING BEES

The amazing Spelling Beesspend the long sunnydays buzzing happily from ower to ower.Each of these remarkable little creatures has

upon its back, a letter of the alphabet, by meansof which they can communicate by grouping

together to form words.They are especially clever at using theirmagic spells to solve word puzzles and

play spelling games.

TOMMY MORE AND PENNY LESSTommy Moreis an expansive, exuberant elephant whose

motto is, the more the merrier.

He delights in more leaves on the trees, more snowakes inthe air, more stars in the sky, more friends in his life, and

more happiness in the world.

He loves to add numbers together to prove that every day andin every way, everything is getting better and better.

Penny Lessis a timorous little mouse who isTommy Moresexact opposite.

She is extremely frugal and economical, and prefers, whereverpossible, to reduce everything to a minimum.

Between them, Tommy Moreand Penny Lessare livinglessons in addition and subtraction, and growth

and conservation.

PING, PONG, BOOM AND TOOTPingplays the strings which grow vertically out of his

head. He can pluck them like a banjo,play them like a ddle, or strum them like a guitar.

Pongprovides keyboard sounds by playing hisnely-tuned teeth, which are capable of producing,

as required, such different sounds as piano,organ or xylophone.

Boomprovides a wide range of drumbeat sounds bypounding his massive chest with drumsticks.

Tootplays his nose ute in a variety of ways which canmake it sound like a saxophone, a ute,

a trumpet or a clarinet.

THE THREE BEARS

The Three Bears live in a house in which everydetail of the architecture reects the identities

of its inhabitants. Its garden is perfect for picnics

and parties, while the house itself containsa cheerful kitchen, a cosy parlour, a playroom

full of toys, games and picturebooks,and bedrooms with beds shaped like boats, cars

and railway engines, waiting to take dreamers onvoyages of discovery and delight.

Bud uses his magical powers to invite children toenter his enchanted world and join his friends in fun

and games which are as happy as the day is long.

In the world of Bud and friends,fun and learning are mixed together

like ice-cream and jelly at a jolly party.

At the end of each days wonderful adventures,Bud becomes tiny once more, and settles

blissfully into his magical sunowerwhose petals enclose him in a gentle embrace

as the sun sets in the sky.
