two Scania tipper lorries. The 1225m base level was established by a Surveyor using Leica Total Station TC805L survey equipment.   HL Pads Cut & Fill to Achieve Slope of 1.5% over 100m of Pads Length   The work of cutting, filling and compacting materials on the heap leach pads to create a rise of 1.5% slope over the pad length of 100m, from the 1225m base level, was started in the fourth week of April, starting with HL Pad #1. The Surveyor established survey pegs to mark the start of the 1.5% slope rise on the first Pad.    Buckreef South Pit Development  During the month of April, the work completed on the Buckreef South Pit by the geological team included rough demarcation of the pit area boundary by use of GPS, bush clearing and top soil removal work using one of the Company’s D6H bulldozers.   South Pit Bush Clearing   Bush clearing of the South Pit area of 25,090 m2 (red dashed boundary) was completed during the period using the Company’s D6R bulldozer.  The area was demarcated using Garmin GPSmap62 global positioning system equipment.  South Pit Top Soils Removal  The work of removing top soils on the South Pit commenced during the report period and up to and as at the last week of April, a total area of approximately 14,000 m2 of the pit area had been removed.

Electric Power Supply  Agape Enterprises Ltd., Electric Contractors who have been contracted to build a power line from the nearby Tanesco power line to Buckreef’s 100Kva, 33/0.4/0.23kv substation commenced work on 6th April 2014.  During the reported period the Contractor completed clearing the route for line construction, erection of seven electric poles to site and conductor (wire) stringing.  The work remaining to be completed before commissioning of the power supply line is the construction of a 100kva,/0.4/0.23kv substation at Buckreef including earth works, transformer installation and power line inspection for acceptance.       Mine Water use Permits & Compliance Certificate Registration   During April 2014, three water use permits were received from Lake Tanganyika Basin Water Board and a compliance Registration Certificate of Business Workplace from Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA).  The water use permits were for the dam, shaft and borehole, all located within the old Buckreef mining licence area.    Pilot Crushtec Plant Assembly & Testing  The Pilot Crushtec Plant which was installed at Kigosi in 2010 for gold gravity beneficiation tests from quartz gravels, and later dismantled and brought to Buckreef, was successfully reassembled and tested by crushing some hard mined material (silicated material, plus quartz) from the old Buckreef mine pre‐processing bin (ROM), yielding products down to <1mm size particles in a single pass.  The re‐assembling and testing work was supervised by Giancarlo Volo assisted by the Buckreef mechanical & electric technicians and casual workers.
