The mission of the Bible Stories Theatre of Fine & Performing Arts is to initiate and develop programs that bring lessons in integrity, strong moral principles and values through dramatic performing arts theatre to at-risk teens and people “rebuilding” their confidence in themselves as well as build productive lives by preparing them for college or advanced vocational training. To partner with other community agencies to fight against negative social factors in the young life-unstable home life, abuse, poverty, lack of positive role models, lack of adult supervision, crime, etc as well as a foundation for a life-long relationship with the arts regardless of the child's major field of academic study.

Jesus Christ told numerous parables as

recorded in the New Testament of the Holy

Bible. According to the dictionary a parable is

a story designed to teach a moral. Ah, but they

are so much more. BSTFPA is committed to

educate each child from age 1-99, every

parable on stage so as to gain_ Self-Confidence and Motivation1. Insight Skills and Ability to

A positive self-concept helps us to develop intrinsic motivation. Being exposed to and learning to appreciate the creative process, a child can develop a respect for the power

of believing is one’s own ideas and abilities.

one can accept the possibility of the impossible

  PROGRAM PHILOSOPHYThe arts must be an integral part of every child's education. The performing arts help students to develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self-motivation and cooperation skills necessary for success in life. The performing arts can be a powerful vehicle for motivation and teaching students. Because the performing arts allow children to express themselves in different ways, involvement in dance, drama and music courses is often responsible for keeping them in school. The performing arts are for everyone, not just the talented. Just as society expects competence in mathematics of all students, society should expect competence in the performing arts.

 

The performing arts are rigorous academic disciplines, which require active learning through creation, practice, rehearsal and performance of works of art. Studying the performing arts involves critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The performing arts have intellectual and emotional components. They build a bridge between verbal and non-verbal, between the strictly logical and the emotional - the better to gain an understanding of thewhole. When students create dances, music, and theatrical works, they grow in their ability to comprehend the world and learn to communicate with others.

BSTFPA’S Awareness in the Arts for Children & Youth Project programs … will be continuously dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in both its academic and its fine and performing arts/technical theatrical programs. Its energies are committed to fostering the Inner City student creativity in all areas of theatre-design, performance, directing and management-and to helping students gain better insights into themselves and the world around them. Children, youth, and young adults acquire the know-how of the performing traditions and education in the arts under the handpicked watchful and trained eye of professionally trained instructors.

Risk-taking and Overcoming Obstacles

Daring to step out into unknown territory is almost by definition a creative effort. It is a risk to be original, to try something new. Yet risk-taking is essential to the creative process and creative problem solving.

Insight Skills & Ability to Redefine a Problem Creative children can make links between seemingly unrelated events in the past, to develop new solutions for current problems. It appears that this relates to the ability to think in more random, rather than an array of, ways. This enables them to find within the problem itself the seed of a solution.

Stretch the creativity! This is the perfect class for the students who love to make up their own stories! Themes such as "Superheroes," "Knights of the Roundtable," "Whodunit?" or "Circus Berserkus," will have your students exploring characters, story development, stage directions and more. By the end of class, they will have created a whole play to share with family and friends!

...when God first made the Earth, God looked down and he saw that there was no one to take care of it.

So God reached down into the ground and scooped up some stuff from the earth. He took the stuff from the earth into his hands and formed it into a man. But the man just laid there on the ground like a lump of clay. There was no life in him. So God bent down again and breathed into the man - and the man became alive!

The man's body was made from the earth, but his life came from the breath of God. Always remember that. Your life is the breath of God.

God called the man, 'Adam
