Parshas Vayelech

1. In this week’s Parsha it says: “Take this Torah scroll and place it along side the ark of covenant of the Lord.” 1In the Gemarah there are two opinions about this. One isthat the Sefer Torah was placed in theAron with the Luchos. Andthe second opinion is that theyplaced it next to the Aron, But according to both the Sefer Torah was placed in theKodesh Hakadoshim.This means that in Kodesh Kodoshim there were the Luchos - Engraved letters, and a Sefer Torah- Written letters.We have to understand the connectionfrom the Sefer Torah - written letters- to the Kodesh Hakodoshim.The connection of the Luchos - engraved letters - to Kodesh Kodoshimis understandable, because in the Kodesh

Kodoshim was the place of the Aron,this means that even that it was a limited space, the place itself was elevated.

Shabbos Shuvah

[And also the time in the Kodesh Hakodoshim was higher than time,becasue time and space is connected.]It is also like this in the concept ofengraved letters. Although that they are letters, with it’s limited size which letters need to have to be recognized, that still did not add anything different to the Luchos. And this is the difference between engraved letters and written letters, because written letters actually add something to the parchment, but engraved letter do not add anything.[Especially in the letters מ and ס of the Luchos, they were “standing”.]So now we understand the connectionof engraved letter to the Kodesh Hakodoshim, but what is the connectionof written letters to Kodesh Hakadoshim?2. The purpose fo the Kodesh Hakodoshim, that it’s quality - to be above space and time - should light up the space outside of the Kodesh Hakodoshim, in Ezras Kohanim, Ezras Yisroel, Ezras Noshim,

Har Habayis, outside of the Har Habayis, until the nations of the world, - where they maybe, not only when come to the Beis Hamikdash - should know that space and time is above space and time.

And that’s why also the ‘written letters’ were placed in the Kodesh Kodoshim, this is the method that the light from Kodesh Hakodoshim should be continued to the outside world.

3. It is explained in Chasidusthe effect of the Avodah of Rosh Hashanah on the Avodah of the whole year. A whole year most of the Avodah is according to our understanding, and also the Mesiras Nefesh of the yearhas something to do with our understanding, but the Avodah of Rosh Hashanah is Bitul, totally higher that our understanding.

We have to know, that even though the whole year it is not demanded the feeling of Bitul, nevertheless also throughout the yearwherever he isthe Avodah has to be the same we demand it to be like onRosh Hashanah — just like the the effect the Kodesh Kodoshim has through written letters.And through this the revelation that if given to us on Rosh Hashanah will be dragged out on the whole year wherever he is.

4. The preparation for this is “אתם (The day of judgment) נצבים היוםכולכם

(Sicha Shabbos Parshas Netzavim תשי״ב)

ראשיכם שבטיכםמחני מחטב עצי עד Even though he might ”.שאב מימיbe from ראשיכם or שבטיכם he still conncets to a second Jew, “the wood copper and the water carrier” and he is with him all together, the ”כולכם“same thing.And this which he make nodifference between ראשיכם or until the wood coppers gives שבטיכםhim the כח not to make any difference from the Avodah of RoshHashanah to the Avodah of the year, because also a whole year the bitul of Rosh Hashanah shines on him.
