ETHOSThe Learning & Psychology Centre is deeply committed to supporting all children by becoming their companion on their road to learning. We help children with learning and emotional difficulties to develop their potential as learners, and also help their parents and educators to recognise that a child's strength emerges by respecting the learning differences from child to child.

At the Learning & Psychology Centre we are committed to helping children achieve their full potential.

Our team, made up of highly qualified Psychologists, Occupational Therapists,Speech & Language Therapists and Special Education Teachers, works together to help students aged 3-18 overcome learning and behavioural difficulties.

We offer a range of student evaluations and intervention services in the areas of Social & Emotional Wellbeing, and Language Learning & Cognition.

We also support schools locally and worldwide through training programmes and consultations.

SIGNATUREPROGRAMMES

The LPC works with families and schools to develop other personalised intervention programmes that meet the needs of your child.

Customised Programmes

Tailored for students who seek further support with learning and development before re-entering the school environment. Students are provided with one-on-one attention and their needs are carefully assessed. Specialists work with families to create a programme which gives students the support and confidence necessary to transition back into school. Flexible programme duration 3 weeks - 6 months, at least 3 hours per day.

School Transitional Support Programme(3-5 hours a day)

21-Day Intensive Programme(90 minutes per day)The programme begins with a 21-day intensive course, consisting of two 45-minute sessions, for 21 consecutivedays. Therapists focus on each specific therapeutic need determined in the student’s assessment. The 21-day Intensive Programme supports Whole-Brain Processing by enabling the two sides of the brain to work well together and synchronise functions on each side.

ASSESSMENTSThe LPC uses assessments to help determine the child’s strengths, weaknesses and learning style.

• The test results are used to generate reports, which provide vital information in guiding the interdisciplinary team’s interventions. Assessments include direct and individualised questionnaires, standardised tests, behavioural, emotional, communicative and executive function observations.

• The results include a diagnosis, recom-mendations for parents and teachers, and an appropriate educational plan that includes class accommodations and curricular modifications to help the student succeed.

SCHOOLSERVICES

ASSESSMENT BRIGADESProfessionals from the centre in Bogotá travel to the school premises to carry out intensive specialised assessments (usually by referral from the school), such as SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests), Psycho-educational evaluations and Occupational Therapy evaluations. After the tests, the child’s family and the school meet with the specialist to receive a verbal and written report outlining the next steps of treatment.

CONFERENCESWe are available to present on a portfolio of topics to support the development of knowledge and understanding of learning differences and child psychology within the parent and educator community.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPSLPC develops partnerships with schools to deliver services that align with the school's intervention strategies and processes on school campuses. Services are provided in a push-in or pull-out model during school hours, as well as after school. The Learning & Psychology Centre deploys qualified staff to the school who are ready to serve students at the on-campus centre, for the convenience of students, parents and teachers.

CONSULTINGOur experts coach school personnel in the design of Counselling programmes, as well as in the implementation of Differentiated Teaching Strategies that assist with meeting students’ learning needs in the classroom setting.
