I glanced around. It was pitch dark. The

sky had ceased crying. On their own, my

feet start moving. Effortlessly and

aimlessly, I moved towards a non-existent

choice. I ventured into a brand new

direction. Not just for the sake of 'new',

but because that is where I was directing

myself. The darkness did not touch me

anymore; my strides grew stronger as I

tread to reclaim my life.

From the earliest memories of my life, I dreamt of outer space, and wanted

to be an astronomer. As I grew up listening to religious fables, the seed of

idealism found its way in me. Further, as an adolescent, I loved reading

stories, and dreamt of writing my own one day. Just like any enchanted

teenager, I thought I would make a film one day. Also, I wrote plots in my

diary.

In the undergraduate years, I read philosophy, and fancied myself a

philosopher, giving sermons to society. After my post-graduation, I

thought a teacher dwelt within me. At one point, I thought I could be a

singer. Well, I could not help daydreaming! Over time, my love for

literature, arts and music kept growing.

As an entrepreneur, I understood the need for responsibility, so I aspired

for responsibility as an entrepreneur. I truly aspired to become an agent of

change. As I started graying, I found I could package my thoughts as a

speech, and I thought I should be a speaker. My saga continues.

Until this time, I pursued none of these dreams, nor have I made efforts to

achieve those aspirations. I hesitated. I have always waited for the right

time.

As a citizen, as a unit of the society I inhabit, I see a lot of pressing issues

that are preventing the society to be just. Individually and collectively we

all have gotten in us ingrained, the art of procrastination. 'It's ok to delay;

the time shall come' – has become the societal norm.

It took one third of my life to realize every moment is the right time and

hesitation equals death. Now, I realize it is time to kill the hesitation. It is

time to live all the dreams; it is time to be all I never tried to be. It is time.

To generate a positive influence on the society by promoting meaningful interventions in the domain of knowledge and culture by way of engagement within the medium of creativity , content and community.

Statement of Intent

To redesign the points of contact of tradition and people viz literature, music, arts, folk arts, crafts, culinary etc.

To encourage and collaborate with individuals and institutes who are already working in the above area.

Through extensive research develop completely newer methods to document/share/communicate knowledge and culture.

To influence the education system with this newly developed tools.

To employ new media and multimedia technologies and create value based entertainment and infotainment products/offerings.

At Mindful Ventures our work and thoughts are guided by genuineness, passion and care; not by greed. It is not an effort in enterprise it is a labour of love. It is an experiment to do socially relevant creative work without being in the not-for-profit space.

Mihir Gajrawala

Founder & Team Principal

A passionate entrepreneur and a maturing author Mihir is an exploratory

individual. Mihir brings with him over 12 years of enterprise experience

coupled with a love for literature, arts, music and tradition. A gold medalist

from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Gandhinagar, Mihir

envisions to create a positive impact on the cultural fabric of society by way of

thoughtful entrepreneurial interventions. Mindful Ventures is an initiative in

this direction.

Kash Trivedi

Curator – Music Initiatives

A self made musician Kash Trivedi plays multiple roles in his professional life. A

music composer and producer, a Record Label Owner (Lohit Records) and an

avid music collector Kash plays all this role with unparalleled aplomb. With a

genuine love for music and musicians Kash dreams to add value to the pursuits

of non-mainstream musicians. Based in Ahmedabad, Kash brings with him

more than 15 years of experience in the Music industry.

Palak Gajrawala

Curator – Art and Design initiatives

An alumnus of Sheth CN School of fine Arts, Ahmedabad, Palak is a Commercial

Design expert. A graphic designer by profession Palak fuels her creative urges

by delving into Fine Art Photography. She brings with her immense experience

of communication design and a dependable sense of aesthetics.

Sagar Shah

Design Associate

An alumnus of CEPT University, Sagar is a gifted creative personality. As a

thinking youth, Sagar has accepted his instinctive inclination towards graphic

design as a way of self discovery. His unique talent of illustration combines with

his sensitive comprehension skills, to give his work exceptional originality.

A soliloquy of despair.

Kadach is a poetic expression, which depicts the despair of love-

filled WOMEN towards insensitive men. The soliloquy acts as the

cry of a victimized woman, a woman for whom it is becoming

impossible to be angry. Hopelessness and pain fill her now.

In summary, the poem serves as a description of various relations

that every man has with women. The victim reminds the

perpetrator of the various relationships between him and the

women in his life: his mother, sister, friend, lover and daughter. In

sheer helplessness the woman says, "you might have remembered

me today (while brutalizing me), maybe!"

The project will attempt to combine sound, visuals and words, to

create a compelling and creative music video. The project aims to

sensitize men and society about this shame. The project aims to

play the role of a catalyst in changing the world for better.

It is a humble attempt to do our bit, to be a catalyst for change.

At the point of next sankranti, as the sun movesfrom Sagittarius to Capricorn zodiacAt 19.34.43 hours on 14.1.2015 ,we shall release 'kadach' as our first offering.

This book, a collection of poems, expresses extremely heartfelt

and genuine emotions that take the form of Gujarati words. The

words speak as poetic expressions of someone who, all his life, has

been educated and exposed to English.

The script is not a celebration of literary genius; it demonstrates an

individual's transcendental connect with his mother tongue.

For anyone who has ever experienced this connect, with their

mother tongue, would find resonance in this collection.

The project aspires to produce a record, which apart from being

read can also be looked at. It is a never before attempted fusion of

visual language along with textual language.

This effort aims to revise the way Indians experience vernacular

literature.
