Please consider this a recommendation for Drew Carter. I have known Drew for over 15 years and he has

always been a person I have had the utmost respect for. I first met Drew when he coached me as a freshman

football player at Sheldon High School. At the time I was new to the area, having transferred in from a different

school district. Obviously, this was a tough transition time for me but I will always remember Drew as one of

the first people to greet me with a smile and a handshake on my first day. As a football coach he instilled a great

feeling of pride into his players. Everyone strived to be their best for Drew and the school we played for, because

we knew he genuinely cared about us as players. More importantly he taught me that hard work and humility are

the keys to developing as a player and a person. From a professional aspect, Drew taught me a great deal about

being a quarterback as a young player. There was no doubt that he took much from his coaches and mentors and

was able to pass that on to his players. Drew has a very good understanding of offensive football and mor e

importantly is always striving to add to that knowledge. We were very successful as a team because Drew knew

how to bring us a together and get the most out of us as players.

As I have continued throughout my career, Drew and I have stayed in contact and been able to add to our

relationship. As a private QB instructor and QB coach at Lakeridge High School in Portland, I have taken the

things he taught me and been able to utilize them in my own coaching career. Drew and I have crossed paths at

a number of different clinics and I have seen him continue to work hard and strive to get better as a coach and a

mentor. He gathers information from those around him and continues to improve his knowledge base. His players

that have attended clinics I coach are always hard working, attentive and respectful which is a direct reflection of

his values. Drew has been around great programs and knows what it takes to reach that level. Most importantly

he cares about the people around him, whether they are players or colleagues, and genuinely strives to bring out
