We saw excellent quality of visitors here at The Big 5 Construct Qatar. We had people come here from India, from Africa, and from here in the

Gulf - it has been amazing to see so many relevant people in one area. We actually do around 10 exhibitions in the year, in Algeria, in Kuwait, Turkey, Kenya, Uganda, here in Qatar and more. So, we are in a good position to compare exhibitions. In Qatar I went to an exhibition in May and I took a huge stand compared to today, but I did not have the quality of customers like I have done this week, the quality here has been way better. I have to say the quality of visitors, and the alignment with exhibitors here are amazing and the best we have experienced.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the minister

toured the exhibition kicking off three full days of

networking, learning, and business opportunities.

In a press conference held at the Marriott Marques Hotel in Doha, dmg events (Doha) announced that the second edition of The Big 5 Construct Qatar will run under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar.

The Big 5 Construct Qatar pioneered in the use of technology to improve face to face business. As part of their stand booking, exhibitors at the event had access to a powerful lead collection app allowing them to capture client data right on their smartphones throughout the event.

FREE CPD WORKSHOPS Over 6,000 construction professionals attended The Big 5 Construct Qatar to enhance their professional skills with 36 completely free-to-attend workshops covering Architecture & Design, General Construction, Project Management, Sustainability, BIM and Women in Construction.

INTERNATIONAL HOSTED BUYERS PROGRAMME

Introducing international business to Qatar, in partnership with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), The Big 5 Construct Qatar hosted buyers in Doha from India, Cyprus, Australia, Canada, Nigeria, Georgia, Turkey and Spain. The buyers were introduced to Qatari construction SME’s and product manufacturers, promoting international business at the event.

MEDIA FAMILIARIZATION TRIP

The Big 5 Construct Qatar and Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) welcomed leading journalists to Doha throughout the event, where they visited major infrastructure developments such as Lusail City, Msheirab and National Museum of Qatar. The media came from Turkey, Italy, and India to promote Qatar in their home countries.

SUSTAINABILITY MOVEMENT GOING GREEN WITH THE ELECTRONIC SHOW GUIDE

Sustainability was a big theme at this year’s event. The Big 5 Construct Qatar is always looking for ways to go green and make a positive impact on the environment. This year, the show went paperless with the show guide for the first time. The guide could be downloaded on site using a QR code which supported the sustainability movement, saving half a million pages of paper.

BEST INTERNATIONAL SHOW MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA

The Big 5 Construct Qatar wins ‘Best International Show Middle East & Africa’ at the prestigious AEO Awards. Hosted in London, the AEO Excellence Awards take place on a yearly basis to recognize the best that the global events industry has to offer and showcases the standout achievements from within the industry.

TURKEY PAVILION AND NEW PRESENCE COUNTRIES

Turkey represented the biggest pavilion at the show, reinforcing the huge growth Turkish products have seen across the region. The Big 5 Construct Qatar also saw new presence from Czech Republic, France & Germany.
