FOR LOCAL SPORTS GROUPS/CLUBS IN Bray
Application Form
Bray Town Council is committed to supporting and facilitating the development of sports
clubs in the Bray area. In keeping with this commitment Bray Town Council has developed a
grant scheme to support the purchase of sports equipment and the training aids to promote
increased sports participation by Bray people and to enable existing clubs to continue to
develop.
What costs are eligible for a grant?
� Purchase of sports equipment
� Sports specific Coaching Education/training
� Accredited courses by Irish Sports Council, National Coaching & Training Centre or
National Governing Body of Sport or internationally approved course by a recognised
sporting body.
� Referee, umpire or official accreditation.
� For any applications over €2,000 evidence of match funding should be provided.
What courses/costs are ineligible?
� Staffing
� Insurance
� Projects for which funding is available under another a national or regional grant scheme
or for which other funding is provided from another source.
Who can apply?
� Clubs/organisations based in the Bray Town Council administrative area.
� Applications must be submitted through sports club/organisations and signed off by an at
least 2 authorised senior officials of the club/organisation ie Chair / Secretary / Treasurer.
� Operate as a “not for profit” club or organisation that is open to public membership.
� Are typically small in nature but should have more than 15 members but do operate
appropriate governance and structural arrangements for the running of the club
� Have a primary objective of a dedicated sport.
� Have policies and practices that encourage participation regardless of gender, age, race or
ability.
� Where children are members operate under the basis of best practice for children’s sport –
a member of the club must have previously attended a Code of Ethics & Best Practice in
Children’s Sport workshop (new clubs must commit to attending training where
appropriate).

Who is ineligible to apply?
� Individuals
� National/Regional/County Governing Bodies/Statutory agencies
� For profit groups/commercial organisations.
� Clubs not registered/affiliated with their National Governing Body/ with a national
association.
� Private facility owners.
� Applications eligible for funding under other schemes will not be considered e.g. Go for
Life, County Council grants etc.
How much funding is available per club/organisation
� Grant funding is available up to a maximum of €2,000 per application.
� Individual applications will not be considered.

Note:
� An official application form must be submitted in respect of all grant applications.
� Clubs will be asked to submit evidence of purchase of equipment prior to the grant being
paid. Payment will be made to clubs based on verified completion of coaching/education
courses undertaken.
� Applicants should note that successful clubs/organisations must comply with any
reasonable request regarding publicity from Bray Town Council.
� Any club/organisation funded under this scheme may be asked to submit a report to Bray
Town Council.
� Evidence that the club has been in existence for over a year.
� Bray Town Council will have the final decision on all grants awarded.
