The Combat brake block is the result of a joint engineering exercise, that combined the expertise of a world leading Oil and gas drilling equipment manufacturer, and a world leader in the design and production of specialised friction products for industrial and marine applications.
The innovative design and advanced friction technology incorporated in to the construction of the Combat brake
block has produced a world beating product.
First installed on Drawworks more that 10 years ago, Combat brake blocks have proven to provide significant advantages when compared with the standard brake blocks traditionally used, benefits include:
No relaxation of material under the attachment bolt head, so attachment bolts maintain their initial torque prevent-
ing movements and loosening of brake blocks.
Improved fade resistance (see chart)
Improved brake block life
Reduced noise
Installed as OEM on National Oilwell Equipment, Combat brake blocks are also now being fitted as replacement spares by many rigs and platforms operating around the world.
