In this session Rachel will examine those questions which students find the most challenging, focusing on the most frequent student errors and strategies for tackling these areas to optimise performance. She will look in particular at the demands of the summary questions as well as the translations both to and from the target language.

Tim will look at what we need from our students in terms of output in Paper two, dealing with how the questions work, how we can develop analytical response in our students along with a set of practical classroom ideas that teachers can take away and use. We shall also look at how to get the marks for quality of language and developing linguistic control and grammatical accuracy.

In this session Karine will discuss strategies and activities designed to help students prepare and be confident in the speaking examination. We will consider both parts of the examination, the card discussion and the IRP.
