Well it is all the fashion a lot of Liche are wearing these cloths to war. I’m just lucky that here in Ra’s

great kingdom access to loin cloth is very common. May lust find you?

Oh Wow! Ra’s got a T-shirt with a print of Ra on it. Geeeee, what this means for us. I do not know?Maybe it is just a plaything of the gods, and Ra is just playing along. Keeping up appearances with the

 rest of the Khemri gods.

We have started our journey to this years Dogcon campaign. I have it on good authority that the trip is long and hard, passing though the greater heavens of the gods. Oh really?, sometimes I think Meaker just makes all this stuff up to try to freak us other priests out!.

 - Our challenger Andrew Goodman for the first battle of Dogcon might not be able to attend.

This is unfortunate indeed because our spies informed us that he is fielding a Deamon army and “oh dowe love fighting them?”

After the journey in the greater heavens of the gods we noticed two of our grand bone giants where damaged. Poor Cet the Undying lost his horns and Nurg the Ugly lost many parts. Unfortunately Nurg could not be repaired due to the loss on paints and glue. We did put Cet right, thank Ra. Thus Nurgwill not play any part in the Dogcon campaign. Luckily we did bring Quin-Tyos so it will take Nurg’splace.

The following eight battles were played over three days. Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of January 2007.All these battles were 2250 point pitched battles. And no casket of souls was fielded. Due tothe many battles over three days each battle description will be brief and to the point.

- Daemons, Daemons, Daemons.

Today we fought nasty Daemons of many different faiths. These hated few we even dread and find hardto defeat. The battle was very hard indeed and even though we got some great charges off our dice failedus a bit. Ra-num destroying the chaos chariot with his Destroyer was the high light the loss of me and

Kiya due to some daemonic furies was the low. All I can say is that we came, saw and drew.

BATTLE RESULT : 10- 10 Tournament Draw for Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : none. But now a acknowledgement of a new hated foe.

 Isn’t she lovely

 Ra’s foe

STOMPER METER : Cet stomped and did 1 wound to the Juggernauts of Khorne destroyed 3 furies.

Wood Elf Horror Re-visited

Errr Umm, Wood elves. And wood elves with two Treeman. With many forests, one in the middle ofthe battlefield this battle was going to be very hard indeed. And with the silly charge of Cet into the

Treeman ancient and his early loss the battle got a lot harder. Ra-num did destroy this rooted one, but at his and his holy tomb guard. But the offending wild rider unit was sucked out by his holy curse only leaving the wood elf hero standing alone. Curse all these wood beings, back to the sands for us.

BATTLE RESULT : 1 - 19 Tournament Loss to Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : Ha!STOMPER METER : Cet stomped and did 1 wound to the Treeman Ancient, ho hum.

- The New Empire

We all felt very happy facing the empire. Remembering our many great victories against this army butthis is the new empire. With new rules and tactics this old foe has gotten a lot nastier. Everything was going great, even Targa the Great and The Kraken tunneled up right and timely but unfortunately whenthe inner circle knights with their warrior priest and knight general. When Ra-num issued a challengeand the warrior priest accepted it all became clear. Swapping a lot of abilities with our holy king he wasundone with his guard again. Oh the horror!. Thus this battle ended in a draw.

BATTLE RESULT : 10- 10 Tournament Draw for Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : Er No.STOMPER METER : Cet stomped and did nothing at all!.

- Ogre Killing

Ogres today and many indeed and knowing this foe in and out. We deployed our troops and preparedourselves for the onslaught. Even with Quin-Tyos getting off a nasty flank the busier battle standard

bearer and one butcher refused to flee for three whole combats. At last and very late they where routedand ran down. With many ogres dead and a lot of our force still together the day was ours and Ra ispleased.

: This battle ended on the fourth turn due to our opponent getting his army late.

BATTLE RESULT : 14- 6 Tournament Win for Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : noneSTOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped and did 2 wounds to the ogre man-eaters.

- Into the Jungle

Lizardman, oh not again, and the Terrain was against us again. Why we have to fight this foe here inthe jungle realm is beyond me?. Our charioteers were useless on this battlefield. But we marched on, determined to do some death to these cold blooded. Quin-Tyos advanced but took a giant bow from theStegadon and then was poison to another death by the massive skink assault. Ra-num saw his opportunityand charged forward cutting a old bloods head off even with blessings from his lizard man gods, anothersign of their imperfection. But alas our holy king and his blessed tomb guard where loss. The disasterwas the loss of Ra-atem and his skeleton warriors to which caused the re-capture of two enemy banners.

 Curse this terrain.

: This battle was unfair, not in tactics but in game play. I have never had a more un-

enjoyable game. The rules where un-doubting wrong and it seems totally against the spirit of the game. Nothing can describe the total annoyance of such opponents.. I will go into the major rule abuse laterafter Dogcon.

BATTLE RESULT : 5- 15 Tournament Loss too Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : No.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped but was destroyed due to skink poison and 4 giant bowwounds

- Empire at War

The empire again, but this time we where ready until we saw a steam tank rolling around the hill. With new rules too we rushed in to quick. Quin-Tyos charged in and failed to do enough wounds with hisunstoppable assault which was quickly learnt was mostly ineffective against the steam tanks large armoursave. Alas with a large amount of steam the tank just crushed poor Quin-Tyos. But Ra-num and his

guard finally dispatched the tank, even Icubus helped with this and the routing of the battle standard

bearer and his large swordsman unit. The day was Ra another victory to us.

BATTLE RESULT : 16- 4 Tournament Win for Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : noneSTOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped and did 2 wounds to the steam tank before the thing

 crumbled him to pieces.

I have come to realize that our great and glories army of Ra is not to the liking of many a fellow

general. Oh well, I like the way our holy army is painted and displayed despite the low scoring.

 Our Holy Army of Ra

- Busy Empire

Oh these new empire are very busy, again we faced them. And again we defended ourselves. With poor Bess taking a great cannon shot first turn and being blown away in a pile of bone and dust, I shook my head. Oh no, here we go again. And so it came to pass, I was even shot by a sharpshooter, Howuncivilized. I even saw Kiya get shot, the priestess fought on. I eventually healed myself before the endof this battle. Not much was taken, not a lot was captured, again a draw.

BATTLE RESULT : 10- 10 Tournament Draw for Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : Nah!.STOMPER METER : Bess stomped and was smashed to pieces by a empire great cannon. Ekkkhhh..

- Frozen Dogs

On a frozen plain we encountered them. A dogs of war force, with lots of legendary units. I countered eight characters and the powerful goblin hewer. This great device can wreak great damage on large troopformations. We pushed forward and tried with all our might. But it seems Ra was not impressed withour progress. Icubus and The Kraken took out the goblin hewer without it even causing one wound.

Our holy king and his holy guard were charged by man-eaters, first one then three. They caused greatwounds on our holy king. But Bess came to his rescue and slayed one man-eater itself. The last man-eater

Page 7: Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 7/55

was dispatched by Ra-num himself. But Bess fell to crossbow bolts and pistols and brace of handgunsfrom the man-eaters. I healed my king his wounds. With that the battle ended our losses outnumberedthat of our foe. Not by much, but still enough.

BATTLE RESULT : 11- 9 Tournament Loss too Ra-num BATTLE HONORS : No, No and No!.STOMPER METER : Bess stomped and did 3 wound on a unit of Man-eaters.

The following is our result of the Dogcon Tournament 2007. sportsmanship- 40/48presentation- 24.5/36 compositition-40/40 battles- 75/160 comp- Overall score- 179.5

Placing 49th / 90 Not the best, Kelop and Kiya are very angry. About the bad luck and mostly

which I will look into indeed very soon.

: Although Dogcon was a great tournament and enjoyable to play in (only for the fifth

battle that is). There was one major problem the placement of terrain. Now all the battlefields where setup before hand. And many of the battlefields we did force war on had terrain set up in the middle (orvery close to) the battlefield. This seriously went against our cause. Also the sheer amount of terrain wasalso a problem. But seeing it as a challenge we fought on regardless but because of this most of the

battles where against us from the beginning.

- RULE ABUSE Looking in the great tome of the ruling universe ( the 7th edition warhammer rulebook ). I have quotedthe monsters and handlers text to prove the injustice.

Page 67 under Monsters & Handlers.. Two paragraphs down.

The monster is also capable of negating rank bonus of an enemy unit it has charged to theflank/rear if its unit strength is high enough.

Now the important wording here is “monster”, “it” and the “it‘s” comments. Thus a unit of one or more salamanders does not add their unit strength together to become higher than the five mandatoryunit strength needed to cancel ranks. Even if you read the “It’s” as a reference to the salamanders unit

not the models unit strength it still makes little sense. Every model has unit strength even lone charactersso any reference its unit strength has to referring to the models unit strength not the units, units

Page 8: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 8/55

strength if that was the case it would read.

The monster is also capable of negating rank bonus of an enemy unit it has charged to the flank/rear ifits units, unit strength is high enough.

Now it still could be a typo but because game workshop has already released amendments the rulebookalready it’s doubtful. Thus it’s a rule abuse.

Great news, we have been vindicated aboutseems that many players (even fellow tomb kings) think the same as us about the ruling. And on

DIREWOLF they say that lizard man salamanders cannot cancel ranks. So there you have it, nothing like holy vindication to make a tomb king smile. In yah eye Lewe ( Lee Jefferson ) hehehehe..

- Joe’s Ogres

Today we fought another ogre army. Large amounts of ogres again marched their way towards our battle line. The Tyrant was in a unit of three man-eaters with Cathy swords and black masks. We gotone screaming skull into them, ripping one apart. But then our catapult snapped when Kiya tried tosmite it to fire. We had to seized the iniative and Ra-num and Quin-Tyos charged the man-eaters.

Quin-Tyos stomped the two remaining man-eaters leaving the tyrant alone and un-stubborn. He fledand was ran down. Alas this exposed both Ra-num and his units flank, and most importantly Quin-

Tyos flank to the ogre iron guts. Their charge smacked Quin-Tyos down and then ran into Ra-num’sunit. With counter charge after counter charge and the loss of Targa the Great and Ra-num and his holy

unit near destruction the iron-guts where finally routed and ran down. Killing the remaining few ogreswere our pleasure. And even our carrion got some feeding, running down two ogre units while theywhere fleeing a job well done.

Battle note: Joe my opponent forgot that his iron-guts had the war banner. This would of just crumbled Ra-nums tomb guard unit. Although it was an easy mistake we could not take it back being a few turnsago. Oh such is the fog of war.

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre Victory to Ra-num- 2250pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : Hmmmm, running down fleeing ogres do not count.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped 5 wounds to the unit of man-eaters.

 - Ogre Warpath

More Ogres, Goody! This time a lot of iron-guts and three, yes three butchers. Oh no!. But we foughton hoping Ra and Ka-Ra Sekhmet would send holy blessing upon us. And they did. Our catapult fired

and hit making the ogre Tyrant and his iron-guts flee. This was the start of the ogre’s demise. Then Targa the Great, The Kraken and Cet charged the two man-eaters. Cet only did a wimpy one wound but both Targa and The Kraken made up for it, ripping them to pieces with their powerful boney limbs. But Cet only overran four inches and Targa did the same on three dice, Errgggh. Both ended up sitting right in front of the rallied ogre Tyrant and his lads with to our horror the slave giant on the flank too. Needless to say the charge saw Targa’s and Cet’s destruction, But in a nice turn of events the slave giantoverrun 4 inches too blocking the movement of his lord and his iron-guts. The Kraken saw hisopportunity and engaged the giant in combat. I flew over and healed the scorpion of its nasty bashedwounds from the giant’s attacks. When our charioteers routed some ogre bulls, many ogres fled inpanic, including the Tyrant again. With the ogre middle departed we shot off a catapult shot on the

Tyrant, and when it hit dead on, it splattered the lord in a pile of blood and guts. Ra-num and his holy

guard saw some action charging the slave giant and cutting the foul creature down, Right on top ofthem! But even that could not help the ogres cause. Or the fate of the Tyrant, the great Maw failedthem!

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre Victory to Ra-num- 2250pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : Wow!!, a lot of cool stuff happenedSTOMPER METER : Cet stomped 1 wound to the unit of man-eaters, 3 wounds to the Tyrant unit ofiron-guts

No our Holy Tomb Guard of Ra have nice fur covered shields instead of the dull gold ones. It tooksome serious painting to create this effect. And don’t they look so more like Khemri tomb guard now.

Ready for anything our foes can throw at them!

Page 10: Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 10/55

With our Holy Tomb Guard of Ra having fur on their holy shields now. Our Skeleton Warriors needed the same. So without any hesitation we commanded the slaves to gather the hides. Now both ofour main infantry units can march with the greatest honour. And they better wash their shields too, the

dry cleaning bill will be enormous.

The following is adding to the history of our tribes and customs going into detail into the different kinds of mortal life in our great holy empire of gold.

In the vast untamed deserts of the land of the dead are teaming with nomadic life. This is also true in the land of Romania, where the people worship the god Ra. In this land the mortal nomads live a blissful life in the desert with the eternal dead that protect them total loyalty for protection. This is the Khemriway, which has been so for thousands of years ever since the great rebirth.

There are thirteen tribes of nomads in the land of Ra. These tribes are scatted throughout the land and each tribe looks after their own. No tribes declare open war against their fellow tribes, it is forbidden bythe king of the Romanians - Ra-num. And any tribe that disobeys the law of the king is destroyed bythe armies of the dead, the holy armies of Ra. Any disagreement that comes about is handled by the wisein each tribe. And they work a way that the destruction of any tribe is averted normally a death match or

Page 11: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 11/55

a test of strength and cunning.

Each tribe’s population varies from time to time but each tribe has about a thousand people. Each tribewanders the desert never settling in one place for longer than a month always invading the sandstorms and

climate of the heat. Each tribe settles in a main camp surrounded by smaller camps. The main camp is

home to the leaders and the wise of the tribes, also all the tribes warriors are there ready if need be to defend the surrounding camps.

As well as the tribes and their people, there is another group of wanders that live and watch in the desert. These are the black men or the Jarr’ca in Romanian.

In the many nomad tribes of the Romanians that live on the open desert of Romania, a very old customis kept, from times long ago to present day. This custom keep the land’s undead happy. Or so the mortal

Romanians believe. In fact the custom does nothing of the kind, instead the custom keeps the armies of Ra moving and expanding. The custom is called the Nassk'mar, translation has been lost in time.

Black men - The Jarr’ca : Formed as the buffer between the living and the dead. The black men are a group of hunters and spies for both the benefit of the dead. They are the only mortals that are allowed tosee the dead. Death is the punishment for anyone else that casts their eyes on the holy dead. And the black

men are the ones that carry out this punishment. Numbering about as much as a Romanian tribethemselves the black men are feared among all the other tribes and always carry a great respect for their

 duty.

Sometimes the black men fight with the glory armies of Ra, but this is very rare indeed. Even thoughthey are some of the best horseman in the land the black men normal fight on foot, using the bow toslay from afar.

The numbers of the black men are kept up by the taking of recruits from the many tribes of Romanians, Recruits are always taken when they are born and always male. The ritual cutting out ofthe newborns tongues is the mark of the Jarr’ca and once done a recruit can never leave the tribe of the

black men. This also introduces the sign language of the black men, a secret language that only members know. When communicating to the other clans the written word is used, deeply adding to the shadowy look of this tribe.

Nassk'mar : Every few years sometimes more sometimes less. The servants or Ra - the blessed lichepriests travel to each village. They in turn look for the strong, the healthy and the blessed. Then if thereis more than one (normally only one if any) each chosen has to then fight each other for the right to bethe only chosen one. Then the chosen one will be given the great honor of giving his (or her) life to the

god Ra. the act of losing ones life to Ra is quite simple. The chosen one leaves the village under great ceremony. The chosen one then heads out into the vast desert of Romania without any water or food. The shear heat and climate kills the young healthy mortal.

The villages hold all chosen ones as lesser gods, and call them Nassk'mar and remember their name untilsomeone else becomes Nassk'mar.

Unknown to all in the nomad villages of Romania these Nassk'mar don't become gods. Like all mortals

Page 12: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 12/55

they just die all alone in the vast space of Romania. The desert rots and burns their flesh and very soonthey are a skeleton buried deep in the sands. Then after 20 days and 20 nights they rise once more thistime a skeleton warrior ready to serve their holy king Ra-num. Feeling the drive to join his many fellowundead.

These Nassk'mar are normally put straight into the work stations in the city building monuments to Raand the great Ra-num, and the many strange creations of the savants of Ra. Only after sometime arethey put into service into the armies of Ra. When a Nassk'mar is finally introduced into the army, he is

not giving the normal armour and shield of the standard infantryman. He dons a tiger skin and has a brand new weapon made. Any armour given is also new. No Nassk'mar ever joins the ranks of the blessed bowman of Romania. Only skeleton warriors who have spent much time in the ranks of the infantry gain such an honor.

The Nassk'mar always joins a unit in the lower ranks. To the armies of Ra the placing in the ranks ofthe skeleton warriors is a direct link to their rank and title. The best warriors are in the front rank, thenthe next best etc. The others in the very lower ranks are lead by example. Thus the gaining of experience

is for the experienced not the new or untrained. This of course can lead to many warriors being left witha very long warrior career. Such is the way of the dead warriors can serve the king for thousands ofyears. But normally after a Nassk'mar kills his first enemy he is instilled into the ranks as a normalwarrior of Ra.

And so it continues. I thought with all the plain evidence that thewas solved. After a personal message to Lewe ( Lee Jefferson ) he seemed to

think he was still right. With posting his own thread on WargamersAU hoping for some of his ownvindication. But all the responds was against him. Of course his arguments where flawed and childish at

times. Eventually he had to see some sort of reason and back down. His tone was the following..

“Err no you are wrong, and were in absolutely no position to give me a sports hit prior to reading that DW FAQ, which I ultimately have to accept despite its flawed logic.”

The sports hit that Lewe was referring too was the average sport score I gave to him after the game at Dogcon. The fact that he is trying to blame something on me that was for different reasons is obviouslya sign of his guilt. Also he made a slighted remark too in the personal messages.

“It has nothing to do with your power trip notions, and I would prefer to be playing in leviathan.”

Again an obvious accusation, what it implies “who knows”. It seems troubling that Lewe would be

relied on to run a warhammer tournament after such a display of childish behavior. I have lost all kindness and friendship notion to such a player.

This is the stupidity that all war gamers have to put up with at some point childish and argument playersthat think that just because they can read and have played a few games they are a rule among themselves

especially when it comes to rulings so clear.

 - BATTLE RESULT CHANGE

With all the flawed rule debate over battle one hundred and fifteen we the followers of Ra have counseled and with our holy power changing the outcome of the battle from the Dogcon tournament

result of a 5- 15 Loss too Ra-num to a Draw. And anymore rule abuses will be dealt with the same by thepower of Ra.

A list will be made with the names of all the Rule Abuse that has been done in the games that our holyarmy of Ra. The list will be made from the gamers names and the battles in which the rules whereabused. The list for now is the following.

- Chaos spawn movement abuse.

Salamanders cancelling ranks abuse

May their names be damned just like the tormented souls in our holy casket.

Oh Ra, how I love my god. His blessed form fills me with lovely feelings of total power. I have received a nice fur cloak to take with me in defense of our holy nation. I will do this with great honor.

And it has also come to me that the next battle will be commanded by me. Oh the honor is indeed mine.

- Once More dear friends!

Page 14: Book Of Ra-num vol3

Even more, Ogres where are they all coming from? This time my opponent was a beginning generalwith a nasty army of well armed ogres. Deploying badly his tyrant was behind a unit of gnoblars. I

exploited such a bad deployment. But despite that the battle was hard. The loss of one of my chariotunits early was a great loss, considering they charged and got 7 impact hits as well! Our catapult as usual

did nothing! Still lucky the thing did not blow up! After that play the luck then shone on us again. Ogreunit after Ogre unit fell to our overwhelming numbers. And then Tar-mute and his skeleton warriors got an overrun into the flank of both the gnoblars and the tyrants iron-guts. With one combat roundthe tyrant and his guard and the gnoblars where running away and ran down. Everything was fineanother victory to Ra.

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre Victory to Ra-num- 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Cet stomped 3 wounds to a charging man-eaters, and 3 wounds to a lone

 butcher.. Ah the magic freedom.

Another grand campaign locks us in its gaze once more. With the events of Dogcon 2007 we are allfeeling a bit uneasy about this endeavor. But as always our holy king’s confidence and strength wills usonward. We can not have the same bad luck twice in a row. Can we?

Again my idea to take different bone giants and tomb scorpions over after each day of play, just like thisyear’s Dogcon. This may seem very lazy of us, but really our performance at this year’s Dogcon wasvery poor. So another attempt is needed. May it give us better luck and nicer battles?

The champions of the two major units of the holy army of Ra have gone unknown and unwritten for

too long. So now we are bringing their background to the light, and allowing their stories to be known by all.

Khorsu-ra Champion of the holy tomb guard of Ra

During the wars of Namer Khorsu was an important warrior in his king’s personal guard rising in the ranks the strong warrior gained the undying respect of his beloved king and stood to defend his lord on many occasions.

In the last great battle with the Khemri Empire he witnessed the fall and death of Namer, his beloved king, Fulfilling his loyalty he defended the remains of his king to the last, killing many enemies in defiance.

Upon the rebirth and renaming of Namer to Ra-num, Khorsu was also renamed to Khorsu-ra and reclaimed his title as leader of the holy tomb guard of Ra. During many battles he has done his king great honor and glory.

In Battle Khorsu-ra gained a holy battle honor When the holy tomb guardof Ra got engaged in the flank by an orc lord on a wyvern, Khorsu-ra killed the orc lord with a killer

blow. This honored him with the big chopper the orc wielded which we the priests of ra blessed withincantations of death. Now Khorsu-ra wields it with great pride, breaking bone and cutting mortal fleshwith its holy power.

Isshue-ra Champion of the warriors of Ra

Page 17: Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 17/55

Another great warrior is Isshue-ra. Although not greatly strong in arms as some, his battle sense is only challenged by Ra-num himself. No-one disputes his council, Isshue-ra commands the warriors of Ra, nearly always standing aside the holy son of Ra-num, Ra-atem. Isshue-ra uses his tactical knowledge to give his prince the right battle decisions. Isshue-ra has commanded the warriors of Ra to great victoryand also witnessed great defeat. But never has he taken the wrong action or not believed in the ability of

his troops under his command. To this day no other champion has taken command of the warriors of Raaway from him.

The following four battles were played over two days. Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of March 2007. Allthese battles were 2250 point pitched battles. And no casket of souls was fielded.

- Journey of the Dark Ones

Into the desert they came, and we were glad to engage them. At last we faced a dark elf host again. The

evil host looked very threatening indeed, with their cold ones and crossbowmen. Our screaming skull catapult with uncanny luck misfired with its first shoot but did not break. We sent our carrion into a dark rider unit hoping to break them and rout them down. With typical carrion strength the birds failedand crumbled allowing the dark riders to charge Kiya and her skeleton guards. Lucky the elves did

nothing to Kiya and only crumbled a small amount of her guard. Revenge would be taken; we willed Quin-Tyos into their flank, making the elves flee like goblins. The dark elves sent forward more dark- rider unit but quickly found they blocked their own movement as they ran from our charges. Ra-atemand his skeletons caught up with a group of just rallied dark riders. With a good charge they were cut to

dust then a nearby chariot got engaged too and took too much close combat with out holy warriors and ran away. Never to rally.. Some executors counter charged Ra-atem and his skeletons, but again our holywarriors blessed by Ra fought them off and ran them down. The dark elf lord and the cold one knights

charged Ra-num and his tomb guard, hoping no doubt to gain some small victory from this slaughter oftheir kin. But alas it was not to be, even with their banner of slaughter and their lances of shiny metaltheir lord fell to Ra-num and the remaining knights ran and died. Oh such an elfish deaths.

BATTLE RESULT : 20-0 Tournament victory for Ra-num.. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped and did 3 wounds to some dark riders and 1 to some coldone riders.

- Slann of “RUIN”

Moving on to greener lands, a lizard man army stopped our march. An ancient Slann came to stop our holy war. And did it hurt, our screaming skull catapult again with uncanny luck misfired with its firstshot breaking its arm and sending a crewman to the tombs back in our holy lands. We advanced hoping

to get to the Slann and slay him for his insult. But we quickly found the skinks a hard barrier and alsothis hedge filled terrain. The salamanders on our right flank saw our approaching skeleton unit lead bythe great prince Ra-atem. They spat a huge amount of acid upon our poor skeleton guard, some thirtyplus hits, of course the skeletons fell to this onslaught. But Ra-atem took them on. Getting to them and

charging them Ra-atem and Isshue-Ra routed them and cut them down a great effort indeed. Quin- Tyos was destroyed by the heavy magic and the giant bow of the Stegidon. This stopped our advance dead! And then. Then. The Slann advanced. We were on the defense and we knew it. We waited until duskand waited for the Slann to disengage. We were lucky to get a draw. Curse these old ones.

BATTLE RESULT : 10-10 Tournament Draw for Ra-num.. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped nothing.. Bummer.

- High Elf Fury

We faced a heavy cavalry high elf force led by a high elf lord. We thought this would be easy, but these high elves are not to be underestimated and we unfortunately did. Our screaming skull catapult with itsuncanny luck misfired with its first shot, a hat trick with sadden loss. Poor Kiya thought she was safe;she and her mount were behind her guard in a forest on our left. Unknown to her and me the high elf

repeating bolt throwers could see her from their hills. She was just in the forest and her bodyguard gave no cover. The elves got enough hits to knock her into the dirt. Alas our magic was hampered more. Quin-Tyos was stopped twice from moving with the magic of one of the high elf seers. This upset the

bone giant which I heard as he groaned and stretched with the annoyance of motionless. Targa the Greatfinally came out from the depth and withheld the lust of running down the repeating bolt throwerinstead charging into the nearest silver helms in an attack onto the seer therein. The poor high elf was an

easy feed. But alas Targa the Great fell to these silver helms. Ra-num had his beloved Destroyer of Eternities destroyed by the hated high elf ring, damn hated magic. Quin-Tyos fell to high elf over magic and bolts. And eagles annoyed our movement. I was lost at the last turn thanks to the high elf seer just seeing me in the woods. With his ring of fury my body was lost.. Crumbling followed over all a massive amount of mistakes, bad luck and a nasty well playing opponent. Elves must DIE.

: opponents name was Matthew Debala an eye has to be given to this warhammerplayer. His army was sicker than first thought. And seems to play in a fashion that gives another the idea

that he plays just to win and that’s all. Such players have to be watched and very careful consideration on his sports and comp has to be started. There was nothing bad about his rulings or game play although hisattitude is troubling.

- The Minotaur’s Gasp

Oh now we engage the big boys, a Minotaur army from the very heart of the chaos wastes themselves. But what are they doing here? In these lands, whatever the reason this has to be stopped. And now westarted off very well, even our screaming skull catapult got off its hat trick of misfiring three times in a

row this campaign. And did damage to the beast horde, I was amazed indeed. But then we noticed everything going wrong. Not only did we roll really badly with our incantations but with the nine khorne beast dispel dice our magic was useless. The incantations we got off were the ones we did not really need, having both my and Kiya’s incantation ranges scattered.

Cet the Undying spent a good part of the battle stepping on pointless gors and ungors, and Ra-num tooka long time to dispatch a khorne spawn.. Oh we know these foul things only too well.. But after Ra-

num and what was left of his tomb guard making a charge of great honor on a beastman unit way abovetheir thin numbers, crumbling and losing the whole tomb guard unit. And our charioteers trying to

break the Minotaur lord’s one rank and file left unit, but totally being unable in the end to cause the onewound needed to kill the last Minotaur and possibility routing the great Minotaur lord. It all looked

lost.. These are the risks we take for victory. Sometimes luck is against us. This will continue.

Oh isn’t this nice? The painting player’s choice of Emperor’s Legion. We the blessed of Ra are gettingvery used to this. Too bad it does not affect us a lot. We get plenty of looks but not a lot of points.Seems most players don’t like the idea of commanding such a nasty army of the holy dead mores thepity.

 Our Holy Army of Ra

- Rats Here! Are you sure?

By the blessed form of Ra itself, a Skaven army has come out of their tunnels to challenge us despite thefeeling of joy to see such an opponent this late in the campaign. They had the power of their foul horned

rat behind them, and already the gods of luck were against us. But the battle continued, our screaming

skull catapult hit but also destroyed all our carrion too.

Cet the Undying took three wounds from Jezzail fire and then four wounds from the warp-lightening cannon. Lucky I healed some of the damage before the second onslaught. Cet the Undying lived on to counter charge the large clan rat unit that Ra-atem and his warriors engaged. Flank after flank, and our charioteers getting a rear some of the skaven and causing them to rout. More counter-charge and askitter-leaping plague priest and even the grey seer himself, everything looked slim for a win. A nastyplague got off from the grey seer and plagued three of our units, even Ra-num and his tomb guard got

the effect first hand. Alas it came to one “my will done” move for victory but the call was countered. The battle was a draw. Very lucky rats indeed, we will get them.

Overall not too bad good work conceding the terrain and luck in some games started off really well, the  mistake of . Which doomed that

: another great tournament and very enjoyable to play, no bad games as in Dogcon. One major problem though. The terrain set up was bad again too much on and too many pieces in the middle of the battlefield. This stopped our charioteers gaining any advantage on the battlefield. Eitherwe have to drop them or the terrain has to be corrected. Given the later is not so certain look’s like we

have to redo our lists for fighting in this new land.

- We have Ogre’s

More ogres, oh joy. Why is there so many of these foul brutes around these days. Even all our holy deadseem not to outnumber them. Not wasting anymore time wondering we engaged this horde. The ogre

left flank was wiped out thanks to a good chariot charge. And Nurg the Ugly even routed an ogre bullunit that he charged too. The Kraken dug out just behind a unit of gnoblars then charged the far lead

belcher unit instead. With the three Yeties yelling and charging down against Ra-atems warriors andthen routing against our warriors large numbers, this caused a massive fleeing effect that the yeties ranfrom the last fleeing lead belcher and The Kraken pressuring him. This sent both into Ra-atems

Page 22: Book Of Ra-num vol3

warriors destroying both. With the flanks free we cleaned up the rest of the ogres, but the Tyrant hadother plans. Declaring a charge into Ra-num and his holy tomb guard we readied ourselves for the

massive death these Ironguts can caused. But lucky our magical incantations held the unit strong andallowed for the routing of the tyrant and his remaining unit to the hands of our holy and beloved king.

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre Victory to Ra-num- 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : None.

STOMPER METER : Nurg stomped 3 wounds to a unit of bulls, then was shot to bits by some Leadbelchers.

 Battle Honor

With our carrion suffering the unlucky event of being destroyed by two of our screaming skull shots,we thought we should give them a battle honor for it. Although it’s really a very bad thing seeing ourown weapon that is suppose to slay and rout our foes destroy our very own holy carrion. I could notwithhold a giggle. Well just because we are undead does not mean we do not have a sense of humor.

After excavating some more large skulls from some unknown race long died out. We decided that wewill use them well. Two where added to our carry case and one was added to our bone giant Nurg the

Ugly. Hopefully this add-on will help the giant crush all in front of him. He needed it since his accidentand missing out on this years Dogcon campaign. Poor construct.

We found a spare helmet in our carry case the other day. Not knowing what to do with it we decided to glue it onto one of our charioteers. This makes for some funny happenings in the unit. Well we do not get out much you know, so any humor is gods send indeed.

And another great campaign rears its head again. More chances for everlasting glory for Ra or watchingour army become dust in the wind. This is what is before us. We must do better in the eyes of our

beloved god and his sweet goddess. A new army will be commissioned.

Ra-num has started his greater ascension into an everlasting god. We have order the GW Settra model toportray our mighty king in all his glory. What will be done with is current model will have to be

 discussed in council.

Maat has arrived and our tomb scorpion number has increased. The following is its history in our grand empire of gold. May the powerful Maat slay all?

Maat the believer

Out in the great deserts of Romania great statues of our powerful god Ra were built. Unfortunatelywith the great wars with the Khemri Empire these statues fell and were slowly taken in by the everlastingsands. Only now have we started excavating their remains. Fearful of our god’s wraith in disturbing the

holy remains of his blessed form we finally decided to make creations from these broken statues. This of course started with the construction of the blessed CET the undying Then Bess the holy from anotherancient broken statue of Ra.

Then we uncovered the remains of a large group of fallen statues. Not needed another great bone giantof Ra our eyes turned to building up our tomb scorpion numbers. With some remains of ancient power

left in this statue we quickly realized that this construct was somehow special than any other. Upon itsfirst birth it shot bolts of holy judgment from its glowing red eyes a astounding sight to say the least.

 Thus Maat was born.

The following is the history of Bess the Holy which to our horror has not been done shame on us.

Page 25: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 25/55

All the large amounts of scattered statues in our great desert reclaiming these holy artifacts is our great quest. We, the followers of Ra, for a long time have started the construction of great constructs of Ra

through these broken remains. Bess the holy was our second such construct built in this way. In theform of a great bone giant of Ra. Bess the holy, is a sight to be seen. Its statue piece being a part of anancient wall which was destroyed its snake form being from the same wall but from elsewhere and its

boney body from many of the lost creatures around the fallen monument. This adds to Bess’s power, being a magical undead law of resurrection. This will no doubt will be an asset to the giant for ages to come and will add to his holy power in times of war.

The Thing from the Desert has been found dangerous as it sounds. The following is The Thing fromthe Desert’s history and background.

In the very old ages long before the birth of Namer the deserts of Romania were filled with a lot moretribes and even cities of merchants and noble families of all descendants. One such city was an estate

called Monjamia which was ruled by an overindulgent king called Mona. One day the king in all hisarrogance declared himself a god. Giving personal readings from the past and future and also changingthe fate of nearby kingdoms. Ra was greatly offended by this blasphemous king. And in his holy might

Page 26: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 26/55

sent one of his most powerful creatures The Thing to destroy the city.. .. The creature gored itself onthe inhabitants of Monjamia taking great delight in eating the hated king whole. None where left aliveand it is said The Thing disappeared from all sight.

This story was considered a myth, Until we found The Thing.

On retrieving its bones The Thing came alive and tried to devour the devoted who freed it. We the lichepriests hunted the creature down and rendered some control over it. Still very unstable and prone tounprovoked rage we the priesthood do declare the danger of sending this thing to war.

Another great idea two different armies for Leviathan I name these - 1st day The Things, 2nd day Ra’s blessed.

Ra-num has now got a model as a tomb king in future battles. So now when our powerful and holy king readies the Grand Army of Ra he can go to war as either his normal king form or join me in princeform. The reasoning behind this I will go into later on in this holy book. For now we will bask in thetotal glory of our beloved and holy king and his two holy forms.

The following five battles were played over two days. Saturday 14 th, Sunday 15th of Apirl 2007 all these battles were 2250 point pitched battles. And no casket of souls was fielded.

Grudge match - Locky has challenged us in this years Leviathan. Well he said he will give it a go butthat’s still fighting words.

- The Hated Carva

The battle started with the normal lizard man overconfident melee. The threats of this powerful old blood saurus by the name of Carva fell on none of our dead ears. We both formed up our armies and having gotten a nice deployment we did feel that we had the advantage. We lost our light cavalrystraight away with a spell we could not stop. Then Icubus fell to the combined fire of skinks andsalamanders. Now the battle quickly became a bitter struggle. Nurg the Ugly got around and made someskinks and terradons to rout. Then this powerful Carva saw his opportunity and charged out against our

carrions. And to our amazement failed to wipe them out! Our blessed king Ra-num with his holy tomb guard saw their chance and charged the old blood and disposed of this nasty Carva. But.. His saurus guard and his battle standard bearer had other ideas even though we charged both of our charioteer unitsinto their flank and Ra-atem and his warriors in to help in the front. The lucky lizard men held their

ground then their kroxigors swept around and smashed our failed charioteers. Then everything crumbled. Curse is on them. We will have our day. I promise.

BATTLE RESULT : 15-5 Tournament Loss for Ra-num.. BATTLE HONORS : I killed Carva! I killed Carva!STOMPER METER : Nurg stomped and killed five saurus then took four piranha blade wounds.

- Lots of Dogs

What an interesting army an army of nothing but Dogs of War. With (and this is the interesting bit) afourth level wizard leading them. With the sheer amount of heroes and combat ability we thought wewould have to do very well to gain any advantage. A powerful berserker unit faced our left flank somewell known warrior from the old world. We do not know and really do not care. They came marching

down with heavy cavalry escort. One of our chariot units took the cavalry on and routed them, but ran asmall distance and was taken by surprise by the flanking berserkers. The charioteers crumble but Nurgthe Ugly charged them in the rear- did one wound and still routed them. The berserkers from afar where

Page 28: Book Of Ra-num vol3

splattered under the giants boney limbs. A surprise attack from both of our scorpions and the carrion sawthe end of a wizard and an elite crossbowman unit and the goblin-hewer. Thank Ra. In the end thewizard lord and his pike-man with the paymaster fled from a flanking charioteer unit and did not return

by the end of the battle. What a game.

BATTLE RESULT : 20-0 Tournament Victory for Ra-num.. BATTLE HONORS : Nurg for routing the old worldly berserkers.. Go NurgySTOMPER METER : Nurg stomped and killed one berserker

: Killing the general is worth a extra 250 victory points. But only if the opposing general kills the other players general in hand to hand. Tomb king fighting out of turn does not count.. Bummer

- Ah! Ogres Yippy!

Of course, Ogres what would a campaign be in hostile lands without being threatened by a horde of Ogres nothing special about these ogres. Just plenty of them our king gave us strength. We allowed the butcher’s free rain with their blood soaked magic. This made the butchers hurt and allowed them to be killed easier. Our screaming skull catapult was no good at all in this battle misfiring first shot really made the machine useless with the fast moving line of ogres coming upon us. We took the initiative and charged the Tyrants big Irongut unit with Nurg and the loyal Ra-atem and his warriors. Hoping to routthem with the charge alas this did not happen because the Tyrant splattered poor Isshue-ra six times overwith his Tenderiser. But the next round the Tyrant was refused the honor of fighting well (due to Ra-atem declining his challenge) and was forced to flee with his unit from the sheer force of numbers. We

hacked the unit down. The rest of the battle was hard. Ra-atem and his warriors crumbled but his curse killed an ogre bull and our king killed three man-eaters glory to Ra.

BATTLE RESULT : 18-2 Tournament Victory for Ra-num.. BATTLE HONORS : None..

Game 4 rules: An Objective marker is placed in the middle of the battlefield. The player with the highest cumulative unit strength within 6” at the end of the game gets an extra 300 victory points. Goody.

- The Ogre Menace

More Ogres these foul children of the Maw seem to have a huge amount of forces around again facing a large amount of ogres as before we hoped for Ra’s blessing. But this is the objective scenario and theogres won the first turn. Down they came and sat straight on the thing. Our screaming skull catapult hit

many times which was unusual. But our over guesses were the only major shame. With the two hits we did do we killed an Irongut and a Man-eater outright. This made me smile. The battle was a major lossto us when Ra-num and his blessed tomb guard took the chance at charging the Tyrant and his Ironguts

defending the objective. Alas our holy king was crumbled by the shear number of counter attacks and thetroll gut spell that ‘cough’ we could not counter. We were then really forced to send Targa and Ra-atemand his warriors in as a counter attack. But the last Man-eater remained with one wound remaining and

thus stubbornly held without routing with a large modifier. Alas the day was lost. Curse these ogres to everlasting torment.

ENTRY ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO- High Magic High elves and a welcome change, so we thought. Then we realized the fourth level and second level mage were disheartened. The terrain was bad but of course this did not worry the high elves. One sliver helm unit had the ability due to their magical banner to ignore bad terrain. With the high mage having apowerful book of knowledge too (that allows him to cast irresistible force on any none one double).

This is going to be annoying and it was. The terrain walking Silverhelms ended poor Bess the Holy.Maat dug too deep and was lost. And both of our charioteer units our light cavalry and Targa to fell tothe unbelievable light magic hits and missile and bolt shots. Our carrion dealt with a high elf chariotwith help but was then beaten by high elf archers. Ra-atem and his warriors made one high elf chariot

run from the board and disposed of some shadowy elves. Ra-num and his tomb guard ended up leaving a chance of a bitter fight and just tried to heal their always falling numbers. Kiya had her skeleton guardwere flanked by the remaining high elf spearman. Last turn this did not matter much. We ended

 despising these elves even more

- Ogres in the MIST

Ogres here we go. Facing a three butcher army we fielded our two screaming skull catapults normally a big no no for us. But another bloodthirsty campaign is on the way and we will bring the fear of Ra tothese unfaithful few. Both our blessed catapults achieved well this battle. Not misfiring once and with a

nice five ogres dead between them. Our first turn saw the ogres Tyrant run from a nice volley. Just making it on the battlefield and rallying the turn after. This battle went well for us indeed only losing Ra-atem and The Kracken. We were glad to see the last turn end with two lost combats looking nastyagainst us. The day was ours, as it should be.

Max Power

Max Power faced us, a powerful orc big boss from the deep mountains of the old world his army of green skins were threatening. Just enough goblins and orcs with a giant added for good measure. The battle joined with our screaming skull catapults smashing orc skulls. One orc unit had enough and fled

off the table. But our swarm and The Kracken dug too deep and were lost. One orc magic phase consisted of two miscasts making a goblin shaman go stupid and frenzied. In the end the giant and MaxPower charged Ra-num and his Romainian guard. Accepting Max Power’s challenge Ra-num took awhopping five wounds, one being a killer blow. Fending the killer blow and another wound off with the

collar of Shpeash, Ra-num attacked back getting one killer blow. But a lucky (six plus) ward savestopped it. He lost his chariot though.

It all ended a draw.

I was attacked by a Banshee. For two creepy combat rounds I diced with death. The foul thing failed toslay me. The battle ended with me watching this evil spirit ebbed away back to its condemned torment.

Zackaoss also had a nice combat, with two zombies splattered on his staff and a broken rib for histrouble, it could have been far worse.

Side note, we won. Just.

before, even been crumbled to everlasting dust. But the idea of being disposed of by this dead thing made my ancient bones tremble. I fought off its life sucking attacks and survived, taking a scrap of the foul Banshee with me as a reminder of how close I came to destruction.

And so it continues. Another campaign offers us new hope for more glory. This campaign is differentthough to others. This campaign offers two sides of war the Alliance and the Horde. Even though wewould be better with the Alliance it seems that in this conflict we are on the Hordes side. Well so let it

 be death to the Alliance.

As many nations of the Old World fight for an ancient dwarven relic called “The Nemesis Crown”. The great king of all kings our very blessed high king, Settra the Imperishable has proclaimed thefollowing.

“At Settra’s command, the Liche Priests have awoken a mighty army. Tomb Kings andPrinces have arisen from their interment, their legions of Skeleton Warriors and TombGuard again imbued with ghastly life. Bone Giants and Ushabti have been stirred from

slumber, and the rituals of war were begun. So it was that the dreaded black-hulled fleetsof Khemri slipped their moorings.”

 But more still.

“Settra himself has landed east of Marienberg and begun the long march to Altdorf - homeof the Colleges of Magic and many hundreds of stolen items.”

Is this true has our great king of kings landed in the Empire. This is great news to us. We need to readyourselves to help our great king. His holy might drives all of us to war.

Council has been called as the events leading up to The Nemesis Crown come together. We the priests of Ra have gathered in holy council to discuss this turn of events. Pondering what actions we can do to helpour Holy king of kings the everlasting Settra himself. After much discussion we decided that our efforts

will be best served if we used our force to cut off any counter attack on our holy king of kings invadeion force. Thus we will muster our holy army of Ra and March into the badlands hoping to divert as many hosts of troops as possible. One recommendation made by Meaker was invoking the great “Windof Sand” such an idea would be possible. I will retell the legend for reference here in this great tome.

muster the largest amount of points to march onto the Badlands. There we will fight all we can gainingvictory after victory in The Nemesis Crown online campaign. Also I want players that do not mindwriting battle reports and even creating photo art of our adventures. All the foes we smite and the

banners we take and all the heads we roll.

- Alliance of Men and Ogre?

This battle was a very interesting on indeed. A combined army of one thousand points of Empire and0ne thousand points of Ogres led by an Ogre Tyrant of all things. Facing not only the fast moving

Ogre hoard but also the shooting and cannon of the Empire we soon understood our mistake in fieldingMeaker and our beloved casket of souls. Being forced into dividing our forces from counter attack fromtwo Gorgers our beloved king was flanked and destroyed by the Ogre Tyrant and an annoying gnoblarunit in the flank. This all came about because our Ushabti fluffed and failed to kill an Irongut in aflank attack. Oh I really do hate these Ushabti of ours. Again they cost us holy victory back to thetombs for them.

BATTLE RESULT : Minor Victory loss to Ra-num 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : Ha!

CASKET OF SOULS : Two outriders and two cannon crew.

- Alliance of Men and Ogre II

Again we faced the Ogre horde with some Empire troops. This time they where more in number. But wewhere too the battle started with one of the ogre Butcher miscasting and limiting his own casting ability.

Our screaming skulls did well splattering some empire knights and destroying the ogre scrap launcherwith a partial hit. With Quin-Tyos killing the other Ogre Butcher then engaging the gnoblar unit inthe flank ripping though them and watching the scream and run. This allowed the last ogre Butcher to besquashed under the great Bones Giants holy feet. Ra-num was undone by the ogre Tyrant only becausethe foul lord was quicker at striking. Which saw the end of his Tomb Guard as well of course? But our

other great king and his holy Romainian guard made the tyrant and his remaining Iron-guts ran fromtheir flank assault. The war was over and we won the day.

Our army is ready for this year’s Fortunes of War and with a special guest. A Colossal Bone Giant nowonly if some of my opponents will allow it to be fielded. We will see.

 And our special guest.

The following six battles were played over two days. Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of May 2007. Allthese battles were 2500 point pitched battles. And no casket of souls was fielded.

Scenarios have been made for battles 2 to 5 in the tournament. Also two sides have been drawn up - The Alliance and the Horde. We are on the Hordes side.

There are Campaign Hero Orders and State of Emergency rules. From then on it gets confusing? But it will be fun.

The special State of Emergency rules and what battle theatre we will be in will be documented with each battle.

Our Supply and Messenger models for two of the four scenarios

Into the Darklands

Tournament Scenario - None No State of Emergency rules on the first battle of the tournament Battle Theatre: Desert Rats.

We started this goriest campaign marching our grand army of Ra into the Desert Rats battle theatre located in the Darklands. Ahhh what a sight! We continued on our way to impending victory when justas we reached the Darklands and Badlands border a host of the mighty Empire came upon us. We must

have given them a fright indeed. “A Tomb King army this far in near the Empire?”, but they gave us afight none the less.

We fielded our new “Big Bad Bone Giant” for the first time but we were forced to deploy the poor

construct far on our right battle line, fearful of the empire war machines which consisted of a mortarand volley gun and a hell of a lot of gunners. Led by an Empire Monk General (that we care not his

name and title) the wise Ra-num went for a sound battle plan; move up the Empire middle and slay thisupstart that denied our victory. I flew with my blessed cloak to the end of the right mountain out ofsight of everything to will our charioteers forward. But to my dismay a powerful spell got irresistibly

casted upon my weak and feeble form and I was “Just” destroyed. This of course led to a mass crumbling in our turn two.

Page 39: Book Of Ra-num vol3

Our “Big Bad Bone Giant” was worse off, taking three wounds from one crumble test. The grand giantwas blown apart by the flanking outriders. Oh the horror! Ra-num got the better though killer blowingthe human monk general and capturing many standards for our victory. Alas the victory was bitter sweetthanks to my early demise and the loss of a lot of troops. But with all our holy vigor we where notstopped..

: It was not known until two turns after the spell that destroyed me that it could not have been casted because the wizard casting it needed to see me. And he did not at the time. Alas a mistake that happens in the heart of war and even the most humble priest has to accept some blame.

BATTLE RESULT : 17-3 tournament result. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Big Bad Bone Giant (until named) crumbled and was shoot to bits by someoutriders.

 Victorious in the Wastes

Tournament Scenario - Kill the General killing the opposing general is worth 300 victory points instead

of the standard 100 victory points.State of Emergency rules- We were the Desert Rat battle theatre best general last battle. Thus we chose

Flank as a special command but did nothing to the Desert Rats battle theatre. Battle Theatre: We moved to the Old World this battle.

We joined up with many of our fellow legions of the Horde. And the hosts of the Alliance were readyand waiting. An army of High Elves blocked us in our march deeper in the Northern Wastes intent on

destroying us completely and sending us back to our golden tombs. These foes are the worst of them all! And we faced a dragon of ancient age. But our noble and strong king cared not! With his normal commanding nature he pushed us forward into this foe.

The Dragon Lord took us by surprise, well me at least. He came swooping down into the flank of our Blessed Tomb Guard of Ra led by Ra-atem. The unit took a lot of hits and held until our blessed and loved King come to lend support. It was as if this was our King’s Battle plan all along. I have much to learn indeed. With the Destroyer in hand he dispatched the high elven lord and sent the dragon fleeing. The foul thing flew away far from my King’s grasp. But without even a glance back it failed to rallytwice and flew back to the lands it came. But was our king contented with that. No! A high elvenspearman block was trying to get around our flank all this time. And Ra-num had them in his range.

Page 40: Book Of Ra-num vol3

Even with the sheer amount of spears these elves can strike with it was not enough. Our shields werestronger. After the mage therein was slain the elves lost their nerve and ran another banner to Ra.

 BATTLE RESULT : 19-1 tournament result. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped 5 dragon riders.

- Deep into the Wastes

Tournament Scenario - Messenger Each army has three messengers they must be deployed on their own. Any Messengers that make it off the opposite table edge are worth 150 VPs. Destroyed messengers areworth 50VPs. Messengers have the following stats:M WS S T W At LD Ward6 3 3 4 2 1 10 5+

State of Emergency rules- Old World battle theatre best general Last turn. Chose Flank as a commandand caused all of the horde armies to flank their enemies this battle.

Battle Theatre: We stayed in the Old World this battle.

Now a Bretonnian army came and assaulted us. The Alliance is getting desperate indeed. Just as far fromtheir lands are we are from ours, these Bretonnians had merit. Standing tall in their saddles we did notuse our flanking advantage. We let these knights come to us. Most of the battle was us and then

Bretonnians moving wheeling and deciding on wether or not to charge. It seemed that these Bretonnianswere scared of us, or was it that they where smarter than some of their fellow warriors? A field trebuchet hit Quin-Tyos and smashed him for three wounds. This led to a Pegasus mountedpaladin to charge him. He was undone without even striking in his defense. Ra-num charged a unit ofpeasants guard which was no match for our holy King. But the Grail knight nearby with the Bretonnian

Duke therein came though the gap formed. Our Screaming Skull Catapult took aim and shot one of the best shots in all of our known history of holy warfare. The burning skull hit him dead on and failing his “look out” roll SPLATTERED the Duke for four wounds. The lady of the lake turns her head andthe Duke fell.

Further more the two knight units on our left flank finally got up the strength to charge Ra-atem and his Tomb Guard but we had a problem. I was in it too. Lances came down upon me and horses tried tostomp my bones to dust. But as the dust cleared I was still formed.. “By Ra” I was blessed. With onlyone wound I and the unit attacked back. We forced one unit of knights to run, but the other remained.

The day drew to a close. The day was ours, with the blessing of Ra.

: None of our messengers or the opponent’s messengers was destroyed.

BATTLE RESULT : 11-9 tournament result. BATTLE HONORS : Two. Screaming Skull Catapult will get one for the death of the Duke. And metoo for my stand against so many knights I took 4 lance attacks and 4 horse attacks on the charge!.STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos did nothing at all with a paladin Pegasus rider finishing him off.

- Nearly a Waste of time

Tournament Scenario - Supplies each army has an extra unit to deploy. Supplies are deployed as any otherunit in the standard deployment zone of the player. If the supplies are still “alive” at the end of the

battle then the owning player is awarded 250VPs. If supplies are destroyed they are worth 150VPs to youropponent. If an army’s supplies are destroyed, then in the following turn all troops in the army (who

lost the supplies) hate their opponent for the remainder of the game. Supplies are hit automatically in close combat. The supplies are Unit Strength 10 and have no flanks/rear. Finally the supplies suffer fromthe “Crumble” rule just like an undead unit. The supplies are not alive but have the following stats:M WS S T W At LD AS- - - 5 7 - - 2+State of Emergency rules- We were outmaneuvered thanks to the command decision made by one of our

rather highly educated generals (A goblin too. That figures) so this battle we have to deploy 2 units for every one the opponents deploys. Plus our opponents get +3 to the first turn roll. Nice.

Oh holy Ra, more High elves no doubt hearing of the demise of their former army in the NorthernWastes. Our victories here have only lead to the better commanders and armies gathering to notice usand destroy us. A truth that is all to clear. This time the battle line was ordinary and in total discipline.

Both armies got their supplies ready and fielded. Ours consisted of more arrows, shields and items forour King. The high elves had another Dragon. Oh Ra! The omens are not good.

Again the silver and shiny steel glittered in the sun. And they came upon us. Having only one wizardseemed a savoring thought to us upon seeing the mass of high elves before us. But unfortunately this

high elf mage was packing some serious magical items. Flames shot out and engulfed our Holy Tomb Guard of Ra. And stayed for a few turn destroying their numbers by the burning flame. Ra-atemperished too by this fire attack. Then to push the fact forward more the dragon charged their burning

remains in the flank, just seeing them past the large forest to our right. Of course they where crumbled beyond and understanding. This led to the dragon overrunning a huge amount into Zackoasses archer bodyguard which again I was in gaining cover even though we counter charged my bodyguard in too

Page 42: Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 42/55

trying to get a combat victory. We all crumbled my form and Zackoasses were lost.

Despite all this high elven victory we did gain some good ground. Destroying many a Silver Helm unitand in the last turn routing the Battle Standard bearer and his Silver Helms with our Skeleton warriorsand also catching them denying even a rally test.

Oh with the losses came many victories. But in the end it was a hard fought draw.

BATTLE RESULT : 10-10 tournament result. BATTLE HONORS : Tempting but no..STOMPER METER : Quin-Tyos stomped a high elf chariot and a dragon rider.

- Waste Not Want Not

Tournament Scenario - Objective Capture An objective marker is placed in the centre of the board andscattered 2d6 in a random direction. At the end of the battle any single unit with the highest US within 6inches of the objective receives 300VPs.State of Emergency rules- Flank, we can flank our enemy this battle. Two of our units can deploy on

from one table side useless for us against this wood elf foe.

We pushed further still into the Northern Wastes, hearing of Alliance victory over our Horde. Some race had to be responsible for this turn of the war. Our next foe was the answer to our question.Wood elves I should have known but Wood Elves with a Dragon? The Alliance is pulling out all they

can muster. Surely this goes against the laws of warfare? We may as well just be fighting Dragons themselves. But again I saw the glowing eyes of Ra-num, Dragon or not its time to slay Elves again. Theobjective was far from our battle line and to make matters worse still it was just in a forest too thus

giving the Wood Elves an already good advantage. We formed up as best we could. As the Wood Elvesswept forward we tried to see an opening in their line. We found it twice but both times our assaultfailed where it should have won. Our charioteers against a unit of Dryads for one did nothing. Icubus

the Fallen failed second in the flank of some Wild Riders. But Quin-Tyos did really well. Killing twounits of Dryads and taking a 17 hit hail of doom arrow as well as many bow shots. I was nearly killedwhen a unit of Glade Riders came right up to me when I was waiting in a forest. The arrows missed andI was forced to use a lot of incantations fly away to cover. The same Glade Riders came up and took theobjective away from Quin-Tyos. The Giant being upset that would have been his second objective you

know? At the end enough dead where caused by us to get a draw. We were happy with that, dragons andWood elves don’t mix.

Wood Elf Horror Revenge Tournament Scenario - NoneState of Emergency rules- None.

As the night fell on a great campaign and our last two draws made our army feel the drawing of oursouls back to our kingdom. But Ra-num commanded one last push deeper into the Northern Wastes.

And being his humble and loyal servants we all could not refuse. One last Wood Elf force opposed us in defiance the very force which embarrassed us in the Dogcon campaign.

Now a yearning power is awakened in our old bones and fuel by the will of Ra-num with the power of Ra. These Wood Elves had taken the wrong Tomb King on, on the wrong day, at the wrong time.. Again like before a large forest was sitting on the close centre right side, with the free Wood Elf grownforest close to its left. This left no choice but to force us to wait out side the large forest for the movingtrees come though. I pushed a unit of charioteers into some advancing Dryads coming to claim our

Catapult. But again they fluffed and were engulfed. Targa the Great tried to help but also failed and crumbled. Tree kin and Wild-riders swept our left flank. Second charioteers were smashed by the Tree kin and Wild-riders. Quin-Tyos destroyed a unit of Dryads after charging them and not killing anywith his unstoppable assault. Ra-atem moved over and commanded the Skeleton warriors and movedthem into the forest to see a Treeman. Then willing them into the wooded creature’s flank and assaultedthe thing. Taking wounds, the skeletons and the Tomb Prince fought on. But the Treeman destroyedour beloved prince. Defiant to the end his curse sang out burning the bark and the leaves of the Treemansending it too to dust. Ra-num ended it destroying the flanking Tree kin and Wild-riders with Quin-

Tyos helping our King. Revenge was wrought and it was sweet.

Well, well Kelop apart from him losing himself a few times.

A wrong has been made. And I am here to set it right. The following name has been removed form the Rule Abusers list.

- Chaos spawn movement abuse.

After we saw we where indeed in error on the  charges we laid at CHARLES BLACK although the ruling in was wrongon his behalf, we thought it was a deliberate act we have later learnt that it was not. So now we are trulysorry.

With its inoculation in this year it has fallen to us again to name yet another grand Bone Giant of Ra again what’s in a name. We need something “Huge” something that means“Strength” and “Size”. Maybe the grand and beautiful Ka-Ra Sekhmet will have some great ideas.

With our hundred and fiftieth battle report around the corner we have noticed the damage and loss ofsome of our first and treasured battle honors. So we have decided to put the effort in to replace and

repair the damage of time and bring these epic victories back from their destruction anyway it somethingto do between campaigns hay.

- Whoops nearly lost!

Ogres again I the mighty and powerful Zut-Elucarr summoned our holy army of Ra to destroy thisthreat marching after the Ogre host far out of our territory. I could not let them evade us. We forcedthem to battle and quickly found out matched. Our Screaming Skull Catapult blew up with the firstshot, again.

Zackoasses archers flanked some Ogre bulls with a butcher but failed to run them down eating a flankattack from the Ogre Tyrant and crumbling to death. Our Big Bad Bone Giant charged the other

butchers bull unit. And saw them run never to rally. But the cost was bad crumbling to a flank charge

from the nearby Ogre battle standards Irongut unit. Which Ra-num and our holy tomb guard destroyed by a counter flank attack. Ra-atem found himself fighting the Ogre Tyrant, and survived the Tenderizer’s wounds to strike back causing three wounds on the Ogre killing machine. At the end we just turned the battle around. These Ogres are getting smarter battle after battle. We must watchourselves.

BATTLE RESULT : Minor Victory victory to Ra-num 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : None.STOMPER METER : Big Bad Bone Giant (until named) was destroyed by Ogre battle standardsIrongut unit.

- Those Damn Ogres!

I have been commissioned to control a task force to engage an ogre army before it enters our beloved

land of the dead. I was given a standard army for this sensitive action. The battle was hard right away. Iover guessed my ranges for our holy screaming skull catapult, thus made it inactive for the battle. The

hill to our right flank ended up being our folly. Despite everything we did to try to for the death of theogre Tyrant the foul ogre overlord kept regenerating due to the potent Gut magic. Even Ra-num

himself locked weapons with the Tyrant. Wound after wound was lost and after his holy guard crumbleaway to dust, so to do our beloved King. We lost much and gained little for our trouble. I feel like Ifailed in my only calling for centuries. What will come of me?

Boy! That knight charge was painful. Somehow I managed to hold myself together, somehow. After the dust settled I saw a knight’s metal glove left by the routing knights. I took it as a memory of how Istood against many with the power of Ra behind me.

Nergal the Huge is here, and he is not happy. The following is Nergal the Huge’s history and background. The Bone Giant formally known as the “Big Bad Bone Giant”.

In the ancient times when mighty beings of immense stature walked the land there was a legend that a race of even bigger and immense giants ruled over their smaller cousins. As the story dictates thesetowering few became gods and their rule was absolute. One such legendary figure was a powerful hulk

called Nergal. in its day it bought Great War on all the lands making mountains from the flat groundand rivers from the cracked land. In the end the god became a menace upon itself and was betrayed by itsown followers. He fell and his remains dug deep into the ground.

This was thought too be only a fanciful legend, a fable of unproven truth until we found NERGAL’S remains in the very hills of Romania. Powerful incantation where put upon its head to try and controlthe force of the once dominate giant god. But still the immense hulk will go into an uncontrollablestate. When that happens we pray not only for ourselves but also to our god Ra. To protected us from

this ancient and mindless god.

Another Tomb Scorpion for our holy armies of Ra blessed is we to receive such a large amount of holy constructs. The following is Stygia the Avenger’s history and background.

Page 48: Book Of Ra-num vol3

8/7/2019 Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 48/55

Stygia was one of the strongest warriors of legend before the birth of the great Namer and the bringingtogether of the tribes of Romania. Stygia led bands of fellow warriors against some of the kings of

Khemri to stop their efforts to control and take the barren lands of Romania. Alas the many barbariantribes were not ready to give up their wealth and power to rebel with Stygia and despite his best effortsthe warrior and his band where eventually destroyed by the large armies of Khemri. Stygia became a

martyr for the young and even more powerful Namer centuries after. His name was used to remind allof Romania of their own folly in not seeing greatness before them centuries before. Stygia the tombscorpion is just what we needed now in our holy everlasting war, the remainder that we have come so faragainst such overruling numbers.

I have become a priestess of the grand and beautiful Ka-Ra Sekhmet. Thus I have changed myappearance. My heart is filled with rage and revenge after the events of Battle

. I will take my new persona and crush these foul creatures and gain my honor andfreedom back.

- Serra’s Folly

Page 49: Book Of Ra-num vol3

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/book-of-ra-num-vol3 49/55

Oh my grand and beautiful Ka-Ra Sekhmet, I have failed you. I did everything a controlling Liche could do. My catapult failed, our left flanking chariots bounced on only three Ogre bulls. The second chariots failed to run down the fleeing butcher with his bulls, then got smashed by the offending ogre battle standard bearer with his Ironguts. Ra-num with his everlasting glory tried to pull off some sort of

victory but alas even our great king in gold fail and the Tyrant with his tenderizer won the day over allthat is holy and right. Curse these ogres with their lucky god of the Maw. How can such a weak andoverrated God shine though the powers of Ra we will have revenge Ka-Ra Sekhmet will be pleasured.

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre loss to Ra-num 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : None.

- Serra’s Victory

Another battle against the hated Ogre foe this time I included the Ushabti of Ra. A decision not taken lightly though. I have heard about the performance of our Ushabti, But we needed hitting power. We cut back our magic items and our Liche bodyguard to achieve this. Once we deployed on the battlefieldwe gained confidence. A nasty screaming skull catapult hit forced the Ogre Tyrant and his Ironguts to

flee, splattering two of their number. Stygia the Avenger was lost but routed an Ogre Butcher causing great disruption in the Ogre magic phase. The final battle took place in the middle of the battlefield between the Ogre Tyrant and his Ironguts and our Holy Tomb Guard with our beloved King and our Ushabti with Targa the Great on the other flank. Great death was wort on the Ogres killing them all. The Tyrant was left running and was smited down by the very hand of Ra itself. I feel vindicated the grand and beautiful Ka-Ra Sekhmet smiles upon me.

BATTLE RESULT : Solid Victory to Ra-num 2000pt pitched battle. BATTLE HONORS : None.

 CASKET of souls

Ra-num took his holy chariot of gold to war an endeavor that our King does only a few times. Meaker came along with our Casket of Souls a very interesting army indeed. Our common Ogre enemy fieldedagainst us. But this enemy is learning fast. Our holy ancient tactics are becoming obsolete the battle just

like many before was hard and tough. Our Ushabti failed to even hit an Ogre. And again our screamingskull catapult misfired. Meaker was broken by the Tyrant and we lost our casket and catapult to him.

But Ra-num and his golden chariot won the day by slaying both Gorgers and then smashing into the Tyrants Irongut unit while the Tyrant looked on wishing he was their. BOY the ogre Tyrant is shinny.

BATTLE RESULT : Solid Victory to Ra-num 2000pt pitched battle.

BATTLE HONORS : None. CASKET OF SOULS : The light of Death pulled 3 ghonars and 1 Ogre Bull into the Casket of Souls.

- Aha..

High elves I do not have much more to say. Other than we were out diced and out played with an armythat I was ordered to field by my more wiser Liches.

No more listening to (so called) fellow Tomb King Generals that think they have the knowledge to dictate the battle formation and magic defense of other Tomb Kings. These few are the wind that blows

the newly dried sands, useless to a grain.

The armies of Ra will do what they need to do to fight the holy war of glory.

No pictures where recorded of this slaughter I forgot to bring picture device. No really?

- The Battle for the Helmet? Er? Helmet??

After our intense game against those evil Ogres we noticed one of our charioteers were missing their  golden helmet. The very one from Book entry we came to the conclusion that the nasty and sneaky Ogres must have nicked off with it, during our last encounter.

Those evil Ogres right! We must retrieve it right away! Thus started ourwith a whooping 3500 points. Well it’s a very important golden helmet after all?

The Ogres were joined in battle by some Empire allies yet again. Both forces had about the same amountof points though the Ogres did look more menacing to say the least. But we had the power of Ra on ourside and that was all we needed. With a sounding of grunts and curses the Ogres won the initiative and

came marching towards us. The Empire cannons sounded with a crackle and smoke. One skeleton archer

was no more. Hehehe was that the best these mortals could do? One good screaming skull hit spatteredthree Ironguts and made the Ogre Tyrant think about withier or not just to give us our holy helmet and call it a day. All of our incantations were stopped by the use of three dispel scrolls the enemy only haveone left.

The enemy pushed forwards. We waited for the right time to strike. The time came when the Ogreswhere close enough for us to release our Bone Giants. Cet stomped down and ran over three Ogre Bullsthen crashed into the flank of some knights of the inner circle. This mattered not the knights held firmand the Ogre Tyrant counter charged poor Cet to dust. Bess did not much better. Two units of Ogre

bulls ran away from his holy charge of honor and then he was flanked by the Ogre battle standard and hisIronguts. Bess put up a brave fight and was just crumbled by their charge even with its holy construction

Page 52: Book Of Ra-num vol3

and the blessed Icon of Ra being in range. This turn of events spelled my doom. The overrun of the Ogre battle standards, Irongut unit ran right into our skeleton warriors. In which I was a member ifonly Bess could have held on. Ra-atem, Ra-zeem with their tomb guard came to my aid but it could notstop my blessed form, my holy body, my boney bunch of bones from becoming dust.

Massive crumble followed. My fellow Liches tell me that the rest was a bloodbath. The Ogre Battlestandard was taken his unit put to the blade. The Ogre Tyrant was slain and his Tenderizer destroyed. Both Butchers where killed. The Empire wizard eaten by Targa and the Empire elector count ran downwith-out any honor we took our Golden Helmet back with honor.

BATTLE RESULT : Massacre Victory to Ra-num 3500pt pitched battle vs Ogres and Empire. BATTLE HONORS : None. Oh other than our Helmet back.STOMPER METER : Bess stomped and did two ogre Irongut wounds before being destroyed. And CetStomped down three Ogre bulls and killed four Empire elite knight before that nasty Tyrant gave him aWhacking!

We reclaimed our “Charioteer Golden Helmet”. Well I say reclaimed but we really just found it in ourtravel box? It was there all along?

I am glad to report. We have finished our march though the Badlands with the power ofto shield us from sight. As far as the enemy knows the weather has just gotten a bit stranger.

We are now on the border of the great forest in the region of “” ready to do our duty with glory and honor. Our spies found intelligence of the coming threat. I have documented it as follows..

The Empire is on to us. But no matter, Our WAR has started.

Furthermore our march though the Badlands encountered some Barrow King forces long forgotten Kings of old. They awoke with the call to arms; they have joined our fight swelling our numbers andallowing us to destroy those that steal from the Tomb Kings!

We the people and holy few of the powerful god Ra have, to my disgrace been asleep for a very longtime. Fixed into our efforts to centre our empire to a new location yet again we have not been pushingour normal holy war. We have not yet done anything in this year’s online campaign

and are saddened by our inaction in our holy king of king’s efforts. We have been keeping up our spiesand have gotten lots of news of our fellow kings of gold holy victories and here we are one of the mostpowerful and legendary Tomb King Empires in all Khemri and without one victory.

Not even a attempt and further more our inaction will continue for sometime to come. Alas the timingis very bad for us indeed.
