It was pleasing to see so many children participate in the ‘favourite book character parade’. During Education Week we reflect on the wonderful achievements made by our students, staff and community as a whole. As school leader it gives me great pride to witness how the Bonville school community works collaboratively to improve opportunities and learning outcomes for all students. This is evident in the large numbers of family members who volunteer their time across our school in so many areas. The P&C members give countless hours and days to ensure funds are raised so that our school continues to provide resources and programs to meet the demands of 21 st century learning. Last weekend was a wonderful example with the cycle challenge. Earlier this year Bonville received a small allocation of funds promised under GONSKI. These funds have been used across the school to help many students improve literacy and numeracy skills. Additionally, the extra funds have enabled Bonville to run enrichment programs in Science, Writing and Mathematics throughout Terms 1 and 2. We hope to offer these programs again later this year. Please be reminded that school will close 12noon this Thursday. There will be no buses operating. Bouquet of flowers Thank you Heidi Winter for organising and coordinating Bonville parents to assist in marshalling the Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge as part of the P&C fundraising. Thank you Bonville parents who assisted at the Toormina District Athletics Carnival. Finally, thank you Megan and her band of troopers who ALWAYS make such a great effort in the canteen for our kids. Library News THANK YOU everyone for supporting the most successful Book Fair ever. We will now have more new books for the library which we would not have otherwise had. Thank you. Thank you to all the parents for helping their children with costumes for the parade. What great imagination. I hope all the parents, grandparents, friends that came for recess enjoyed their time with the children. Finally, thank you to Mr Hepi and all the staff for their continued support. Happy reading! Mrs Hart Premier's Spelling Bee What great spellers we have. It was wonderful to see so many students having a go. Well done everyone! Again it was a close competition and each section went for many rounds. The winners for the junior section were Rohan M. and Sam B. The senior section winners were Ben W. and Zack G. The next round will be held at Sawtell PS. Congratulations Rohan, Sam, Ben and Zack! Snake Tails Snake Tails was a huge highlight for students who attended!
