Children will explore all the wonders of nature using their five senses. Each day will be filled with art, learning games, exploration and songs.

A sample of the Owl themes for this summer:■ Five Alive

Let’s listen for bird songs, smell fresh herbs from the garden, and search high and low for local wildlife. We will use our senses to see like an owl, listen like a fox, and smell like a rabbit in our games, gardening, and art projects.

■ Sing, Sculpt, Splatter Paint, glue, crayons, dirt, berries, and flowers will be the materials and tools you will use to explore nature through art. Observe and learn about wildlife while painting, drawing and sculpting. Celebrate wildlife through the use of puppets, songs and dances.

Contact us for full descriptions of weekly themesor see them on our website!

Owls Ages 5-6

www.massaudubon.org/boston

Children will investigate the sanctuary through science experiments, art, literature and creative play.

Some of the weekly themes for the Hawks:■ Feathery Fun

What animals have eyes that take up nearly half of its head? Birds! We will investigate trails, play games and create bird-inspired art while discovering how these fantastic flying machines are adapted to survive at the BNC.

■ Living Laboratory You may not realize it, but there’s a world of experiments outside! We will turn our questions into investigations. In our living laboratory, find out about animal behavior, how plants grow, and more.

Hawks Ages 6.5-8

Children will learn how to develop and test their own ideas to gain a better understanding of the natural world through discovery andhands-on activities.

A sample of the Falcon weekly themes:■ Under Construction

Dens, webs, nests, and lodges are just a few of the creative ways animals build the world around them. You will weave, mold, dig and construct to discover why and how these industrious animals create these amazing features.

■ Survivor BNC What does it take to survive in the wild? Can you build your own shelter? Can you read a map and find your way to water? Join us for exciting outdoor adventures and lots of fun while testing your new outdoor skills.

Falcons Ages 9-10

Children can attend a unique program that incorporates intellectuallystimulating and hands-on activities. Themes are three weeks long for a more complex and in depth experi-ence. We recommend that Adventurers attend all three weeks of a session for the best experience.

Adventurer themes are:■ Get Up! Stand Up!, Secret Agent Plant, and… ■ Back to the Future

Trees grown into the shape of houses, slime that produces electricity… the future is now. What are other futuristic solutions engineers are working on to solve the problems of today? In these three weeks, you will design and race solar cars, build green living spaces, and construct your own futuristic ideas for the world.
