Get to Know Your Students

“Hunter's supposed to be one of the most diverse colleges in NYC but yet still I feel like I am the only Caribbean kid walking around. I'm not referring to your parents being from there or your friend or your sister or your cousin (even though that'll be nice to know as well), I'm referring to born and raised in the Caribbean. Sometimes i regret coming to Hunter since I feel like I'm the only one of my kind here.”

“I like being friends with all of the people in our class, and who knows i will probably never see the people in our [first year seminar] again. I’m going to be in a class like chemistry next semester and see all the kids talking to each other who chose the class to be with their friends, and I’ll be the kid in the back all over again like my four years in high school, sitting there hoping someone who knows me will just enter the door and sit next to me.”

If you'd like some help with the Russian work let me know and I will definitely try to help you out as best as I can. I am purely a beginner but if your interested at all, call me @ [phone number] and we can work out sometime in your schedule!Good Luck :)” - Shana

Support Emerging LeadersJavier’s writing.

“Is school for me? I am not sure! Should I be a freelance writer and do my own thing? I do not know! Do I need a college degree to make it out there or by just being talented I can make it? I’d like to know what YOU think of this situation or tell me about why you are confused! Maybe we can help each other out! Peace, love and always be true to yourself! It's your life :O)”

“life is life and what can you do :( but stay strong and try your best to be happy. and just to let you know i enjoyed reading this blog :O)because we are in the same ocean different boat and maybe one day we will find the shore and etc.”
