Get to Know Your Students
“Hunter's supposed to be one of the most diverse colleges in NYC but yet still I feel like I am the only Caribbean kid walking around. I'm not referring to your parents being from there or your friend or your sister or your cousin (even though that'll be nice to know as well), I'm referring to born and raised in the Caribbean. Sometimes i regret coming to Hunter since I feel like I'm the only one of my kind here.”

“I like being friends with all of the people in our class, and who knows i will probably never see the people in our [first year seminar] again. I’m going to be in a class like chemistry next semester and see all the kids talking to each other who chose the class to be with their friends, and I’ll be the kid in the back all over again like my four years in high school, sitting there hoping someone who knows me will just enter the door and sit next to me.”
