Here, I would like to share some guidelines for developing assessments for mobile learning.

According to Ambient research, game-based learning is expected to grow from $1.5 billion in 2012 to $2.3 billion in 2017.Games are great way to reinforce learning and games make the learning more engaged throughout the course. While designing any kind of mobile games, keep in mind the touch interactions of mobile platforms for effectiveness.

Puzzles

Puzzles are great way to Instead of formal assessment or quizzes, learners could be asked to solve certain puzzles such as crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, etc. On successful completion of the puzzle/activity, the learner can be move to the next level. Puzzles assist the learners to refresh learner’s knowledge.

Evaluation of learning can be achieved through mobile devices. Responses from learners are difficult to obtain, especially in case of lengthy questionnaires or filling up a form. Polls, Surveys or Feedback questionnaires are an effective way to overcome this difficulty.

Polls are used for analysis of training needs. For example, you can ask learner for their choice of topics or you can check the mobile devices, which are used by your learners to make sure that, your mLearning courses are compatible. Similarly, you can use polls to know the primary ways of your learners.

Surveys

Surveys are used to evaluate a training program. You can use this feature to ask them questions, to evaluate on their training program and It is simple and easy for learners to respond to questionnaires on their mobile phones.

Feedback

You can obtain feedback from your learners at greater detail on the course content, their usability or applicability to their jobs.

These are some of the guidelines for developing an assessment, for carrying out effective mobile learning modules and help to assess the learning comprehension/knowledge gain.
