Dear Summer Campers,

Welcome to our Summer Program! The Carriers of Light and Blessed Bonds Summer

Program provides your children with a rich experience that mixes Quranic Study,

Islamic study, and lots of fun activities. Hifz Quran students have the opportunity to

sign up for additional morning Quran class every day. This year, Carriers of Light is

also partnering with TinkrWorks to provide some great STEAM (Science. Technology,

Engineering, Art, and Math) workshops. Each STEAM workshop is two weeks long.

Students have the opportunity to register for STEAM only or have it as part of their

day at Carriers of Light.

When registering for the summer program, students will spend their time

strengthening their relationship with their holy book (reading, memorizing and

revising), bonding with peers and mentor while learning about their Deen, and

engaging in fun activities to enrich their experience and learning.

For parents who want to see a positive change in their children’s Quran and Islamic

character, this is very strongly recommended. The main Summer Program is for

boys age 6 to 11 years, and girls ages 6 to 16 years.

For new students , joining COL in the Fall of 2019, this summer program is extremely

helpful as it set your child on the right track in their Quranic study.

Blessed Bonds is a Deen-centered, youth program, for young ladies, that aims to positively transform

them spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. The Blessed Bonds experience is a

Metamorphosis of sorts. Starting with the caterpillar, that in its very style of movement represents

what each individual must do to grow spiritually. The caterpillar pulls in and then stretches out and

this moves it forward. This “pulling in” is the absorbing and processing of Ilm and the stretching out is

the “amal” that goes with it. Add some Ikhlas to this and we are on our way to chrysalis. This is where

all the learning and practicing begins to change the spiritual makeup of an individual. Finally, a

butterfly emerges and we have reached a spiritual goal.

Metamorphosis reflects the process of change that an individual goes through as they develop

spiritually to eventually emerge as a beautiful and bright soul. By nurturing a strong and resilient

bond with Allah (swt), we hope to guide each precious soul through chrysalis, to emerge as a

butterfly.

Carriers of Light is a full-time Islamic school for grades Preschool through 6th. We focus

approximately 60 % of the school day on Academics and 40% on Quranic studies (reading,

memorization, and tajwid). In addition to Islamic Studies classes, character education and reminders

about good manners are woven throughout the day. Arabic classes for all grade levels strengthen the

Quranic foundation.

Academic classes focus on Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, meeting and exceeding

Common Core standards. Our small class sizes allow opportunities for di�erentiation and

individualized attention. Our class sizes in early childhood cap at 10 students per teacher, and 15 per

teacher in elementary school to ensure every child receives the attention they deserve. Enrichment

classes include Art, Physical Education, Islamic Studies, and others. Our qualified and passionate

teachers infuse Islamic concepts into academic lessons when possible. You'll find that over 65% of our

teachers are specialized in their respective field, and over 80% of them have either a Bachelor's or

Master's degree(s) in Education.
