Distribution and habitatIt is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand. The subspecies P. l. atterimus isendemic to the island of Borneo; it is sometimes considered a full species known as the Bornean Black Magpie.The natural habitats of the Black Magpie are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropicalmangrove forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
