Viewing your Child's Calendar Via the Calendar Tab Click on the Calendar tab to view your child’s calendar. The Calendar will show you which summative assignments are due on which dates for your child in calendar form. You can switch between a month or a week view depending on how much detail you wish to see. You can also go to previous months to see past assignments and activities.

Assignments On the Calendar each box represents a student’s summative assignment with the color designating the type of assignment. On the right of your screen you can see what each color symbolizes: task, an exhibit, lab work, project, etc..

In addition, you can hover over the ‘i’ icon in each box for further information regarding that assignment. If there are files uploaded along with this assignment you may click the file to open it. This is an excellent way to stay up-to-date on your child’s work.

Please note that the calendar is not used to record homework in the Secondary School.

Each subject area has four criteria, which are used to measure student learning. Students receive a number from one to eight indicating how well they met each assessed criterion.

Summative assessments are typically a culminating task used to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit, and form the basis of criterion levels awarded.

At the bottom of the page, you will see IB MYP Progress for middle year students as well as information on Service and Action and Activities.

For Diploma Programme students you will see CAS activities, the Extended Essay and ToK.

Viewing your Child's Academic Program via the Academics Tab Select the Academics tab to view your child’s academic program. From the Overview screen you will see you child’s profile details. There is a tab to toggle between term, semester or year to see current or past academic progress.

A list of your child's classes is located under the profile along with their class and support teachers on the right hand side. For primary, the children all work in their homeroom class for all subjects except German, in which students are grouped into either German Language and Literature, if they speak German as a mother tongue, or by the phase of German language acquisition that they are in.

For details of what they are learning in each class, click on the Expand tab. This will show you the Programme of Inquiry and the stand-alone units for your child’s class.

The first section shows either the full Programme of Inquiry, or just the units with an emphasis on a Single Subject. The second shows the Stand Alone Units – which are the units that students study outside of the Programme of Inquiry. Viewing Tasks

By clicking on the Tasks tab you will find detailed information about assigned tasks. In the future, we will communicate information about specific learning activities in this section. For assessment activities, this may involve comments about your child’s performance.

Your Child’s Portfolio Underneath the list of Contacts on the right at the bottom of the page is the Portfolio button. Scroll down and click on Portfolio.

We will continue to use the physical portfolio for many pieces of work. However the electronic portfolio provides ongoing samples of work and allows teachers, parents and students to add comments, goals and additional files. We encourage parents to upload examples of home learning, and take part in a shared conversation about learning goals and what is happening at school. This will complement the portfolio conferences in Spring.
