Planning an Amazing Birthday Celebration.....

Whether you are brand new in the business or an expert, the following tips could help you “walk on the

wild side!”

*Get the Attitude

Make up your mind that you are going to do it! Don't take the "I'll try" attitude...take the "I will" attitude! Have a strong desire to

meet any challenge.

*Set Your Goal

Tell everyone about your goal. You may want to say something like "I'm working on holding________parties with

$_____________in sales to celebrate Tupperware's Birthday and with your help I know I can do it." Be excited about the chal-

lenge!

*Spread the News

Ask everyone you know to date. Include friends, neighbors, relatives, past hosts and guests. Ask twenty customers to collect

$150 in orders......that's $3,000 in sales! Be sure to hand deliver or mail the new catalog and monthly brochure to everyone on

your Christmas card list. Tell them about our celebration and ask them to date a party and/or place an order.

*Insure Your Success

Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency or postponement. Date

in double host parties, multiple host events, Bingos. Include an open house at your home for all of your friends, relatives, and

customers that are not holding a party with you ~ challenge them to bring $150 in outside orders.

*Power Party Plan Every Event

Party plan thoroughly. Monthly brochures are a must! When you are party planning, let your host know the importance of Birth-

day weeks to you, how much you are counting on them, and how much you appreciate them.

*Party! Party! Party!

Fill daytime slots with mini parties, basket parties, and office lunch hour demos. Save evening spots for those people who will

truly be conscientious and work to do their best.

*Double Host Party

A double host party is when two friends host a party at one place at the same time. Each host works on her own guest list and

outside orders. Each party is planned separately (separate packet) with each setting separate goals. We recommend not com-

bining sales. You might challenge them to a fun competition ~ highest sales, most datings, most guests, etc.

*Mystery Hostess or everyone wins Party

Hold a mystery host party in your own home. Send special invitations and invite everyone you can. Offer gifts for bringing a

friend. Give a gift to the guest who brings the most outside orders. Sales are totaled and a drawing is held to determine the Host.

She gets the sales credit for gifts and will usually continue working on additional sales and datings during the week for an even

bigger gift.

Par-ty!

Page 8: Birthday Birthday Tupperware Tupperware! Month... · *Insure Your Success. Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency

Be Prepared! Big sales take planning......try all or a few of the following suggestions To help you and your family not only have fun but survive

during a big sales month:

*Set your goal. Make it a stretch but also be realistic. Let your family

know what your goal is so that they will understand that you will be

working extra hard and putting in extra time on your business. Talk

together about what you will do with your profits so they know that

everyone will benefit from your extra work.

*Post your schedule for the week on the refrigerator with each Host’s

name, party date, address, and phone number.

*Make a list of the supplies you will need and purchase them early. It is

better to have too many catalogs and order forms than not enough.

*Menu plan for the week. Pick simple favorites that won’t take much time

to prepare or can be fixed ahead of time.

*Plan your wardrobe for the week. The nice thing about doing Tupperware

parties is that you see different people at each party. You can pick a

favorite outfit or two and wear it throughout the week.

*Catch up on laundry. Everyone is happier when clothes are ready to go.

* There are two things that you can prepare ahead of time that will save

you lots of frustration during a busy week. The first is “party bags”.

Each party bag should contain 10-15 catalogs and monthly brochures,

20+ order forms, game prizes, party planning packets, and a product door

prize (optional). Not only are your supplies ready to grab in an instant

but these bags should stay in your car for emergency supplies, also.

The second important pack ahead items for your kit. Plan similar party

types for the week with your Hosts. For example--have cooking items in

one bag so it is easy to grab along with your kit and host gift samples.

It takes a little time on the weekend, but the hassle and

frustration it will save you each day before the party is really worth it.

You will even find the time to enjoy dinner with the family and relax a

little before you leave.

My Birthday Month Goal $_______________(March 31-April 27)

And I plan to do this by holding ________parties and/or sales events.

Page 9: Birthday Birthday Tupperware Tupperware! Month... · *Insure Your Success. Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency

It is often doing the little things for others that builds your business!

Send a thank-you note for dating

Party planning in person

Contact and care about your Host before the party

Arrive 30 minutes early to set up & to put your Host at ease

Give great service with a smile

Create a happy and energetic atmosphere

Greet guests as they arrive and thank them for attending

Give small gifts for bringing a friend, an outside order, etc.

Give game prizes at parties

Hold on time drawings or door prizes drawing(s)

Explain the party plan and how easy it is to be a Host

Ask everyone to date

Offer several party options to appeal to the different tastes

and types of people

Make it a fun and informative “Party Experience”

Share a recipe

Demo Host Gifts and highlight sales specials

Give courteous service on defective products/replacement parts

Be considerate – 2 hours or less from start to finish of party

Do you ever wonder why some Consultants and Managers always have

full date books and do a great business? Any or all of the above tips

could be the reason a customer or Host prefers you OR chooses

someone else. Your business depends on “little things”.

They make a BIG difference!

Little Things Mean A lot!

Page 10: Birthday Birthday Tupperware Tupperware! Month... · *Insure Your Success. Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency

Making A Dating Basket

Dating Baskets are unique and individual. They are easy to carry

and are decorated with a creative touch to attract attention and

filled with products to entice more people to date parties in the

next 1-2 weeks. The idea: Create a party basket, pick it up, and

date more parties!

Here’s how it works:

Purchase a large handled basket.

Use any stock that you have at home or purchase several Tupperware sets and break them

apart so you have dozens of pieces of product (cereal bowls, tumblers, large gadgets,

snack cups, midgets, etc.)

Pick up decorative items at Michael’s, WalMart, etc. For example, ribbon, bows, silk flowers,

etc. These items will be used to decorate your basket.

How to use the dating basket: Carry it to every party! At the end of your demo, hand the

basket to the closest guest. Then, thank the Host for having the party and say “Mary has done

such a great job tonight! She has set her sights on our Host Gift Special and needs your help!

When you date your own “party experience” in the next two weeks, you can select any product

from my gift basket as an extra Thank You! AND, when you date within the next 5 days or

choose to have a daytime party experience, you can select TWO gifts from the basket!”

Variations:

Buy 1¼ yard of seasonal fabric and line your basket. Tuck matching fluffs of fabric in and

around the products. It will look great and attract more attention.

Put a few items in individual boxes and wrap in pretty paper. Some may love a “surprise gift”

for dating. Have fun making these great dating baskets. They work!!

There are 10 important things to remember as you prepare to make dating calls.

Dating by telephone takes practice. Try following these tips:

Get an "A" For Attitude

A positive attitude tends to help people be more responsive to you. Be positive about your Company and about your product.

Set Goals

Each time you make dating calls, you should have a goal in mind. Talk to 20 people, date 5 parties, call for 2 hours, etc. Keep

going until you achieve that goal.

Know Your Product

Your prospects need to visualize all the products that you are demonstrating. Be prepared to give exciting details and

information. Do your homework and know your product, sales specials, and Host gifts.

Organize Your Work Area

Every job requires preparation in order to use time and resources effectively. Have dating items handy: Datebook, current cat-

alog and brochure, parts book, order forms, calculator, pens, and a timer. Being organized will help your dating calls go more

smoothly and help you maintain an effective work environment.

Organize Your "Retrieval" System

Learn the best way to record information from a prospect. Lead sheets, dating logs, etc. are excellent ways to record important

information that you will use for future dating calls. Not all Hosts will date now, therefore, you need to keep track of all of your

calls for later use. New Consultants and future Promote-Outs could also benefit from leads when in need of a dating "fix!" The

greater your source of dating prospects, the greater your chance for dating.

Practice Your Message

Know what you are going to say to date parties. You have many people to talk to. You don't want to waste their time or yours.

Be familiar with current promotions and gifts. Have open dates clearly marked in your book.

Set The Mood

Smile and be direct. You are working on your business. People respect work time and dedicated workers.

Ready, Get Set, Listen!

Listen carefully to what your prospect needs. More product, extra income? A Tupperware Host can get both ~ she just may

need to hear the information from you.

Learn How To Handle Objections

No matter how well you prepare, you will encounter some resistance. A "no" may just meannot now". Offer a date a little fur-

ther out. Be flexible and encouraging. . . but set a date!

Think Success

Before you start dialing, mentally anticipate a positive outcome from your call. Even if you don't date a party, make a positive

impression. That Host will remember your consideration and enthusiasm the next time you call her to date and will be more

apt to recommend you to another friend who needs a Tupperware lady.

Page 13: Birthday Birthday Tupperware Tupperware! Month... · *Insure Your Success. Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency

Dating And Recruiting Word Choices

Good word choices build confidence and help our people move into action. Knowing what

to say and when to say it is the key.

Dating:

“If I were giving this Host Gift Special away FREE tonight, how many of you would take

it?”

“Thinking of your schedule, are there any evenings or days that would not work for

you?”

“I am so excited about what’s new in Tupperware. Let’s gather around your kitchen table

for a quick, fun demo.”

Smile, nod and say: “I would love to have a Tupperware party with you! Are you thinking

about it?”

“Thank you so much for coming to the party tonight. I would be honored to come to

your home and show your friends the newest in Tupperware!”

Recruiting:

“Has anyone ever shared the information with you about the opportunities in

Tupperware? I would love to and it’s OK if you say no.”

“If your husband doesn’t object, would you try it?”

“Tupperware has asked me to share information about our company with at least 5

people this week. Will you help me out and be one of them?”

“This opportunity could change your life. What do you think about what I just told you?”

“What, if anything, would stop you from trying this for 2weeks?”

“Have you ever thought about doing what I do? Why not tryit for 30 days?”

“If you love the product, why not shop wholesale instead of retail?”

Page 14: Birthday Birthday Tupperware Tupperware! Month... · *Insure Your Success. Date as many parties as you possibly can. Try to have back up parties to offset a last minute emergency

DON’T HAVE TIME FOR A PARTY?

Sure you do... when you try one of these

“I Don’t Have Time For A Party, Parties!”

Choose one of several FUN, 10-30 minute parties:

1. PMS - another Girl’s Night Out Party or at least an excuse to party...PMS is Popcorn, Mini Tupper Demo &

Sodas...and of course, you can’t forget the chocolate: M&Ms!

2. 3-4-5-10 - You and 2 = 3 live adults, I bring 4 products and/or sets, You collect prepaid outside orders in

increments of 5 ( I offer a gift for each 5 you collect) and the10 is increments of minutes you want it to all

last...10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 minutes!

3. Chocolate Lover’s Party - You choose from one of my delicious & irresistibly sinful Chocolate desserts. In-

vite your chocoholic friends over for a quick, 30 minute get together. (Hot Fudge Pudding Cake, M&M

Brownies, Chocolate Coke Cake, etc.)

4. 7-Up Party - You have 7 guests over and serve 7-Up. I show everyone how to make our 7-Layer Taco Dip

or 7-Up Cake in just 7 minutes. I bring 7 products to show and tell in just 7 minutes.

5. Shorts ‘N Shades - This is fun for spring or summer. Guests wear their shorts and sunglasses and the party

usually takes place outside by the pool, (kiddie pools work, too), at McDonalds in playland, by the lake, ball-

game or at the park! It’s basically a Party where you make it what you want it, usually outside in the sun-

shine!

6. Tupper T - This is not make believe! This is fun for little ones or big ones. Moms and Me, old or young en-

joy this tea party, whether it is hot tea or iced tea. You can serve a favorite dessert, maybe my easy 5 min.

Apple Cobbler. Recipe exchanges can be fun for this one. You decide when our T-time begins & ends! (Make

our Tea!)

7. Basket Party - Especially great for the office or an apartment and your demonstration arrives in a basket!

Great at end of day before they leave, helps miss all the rush home traffic. Great for Corporate Shopping

Days, too.

8. Show ‘N Tell - Guests bring their favorite piece of Tupperware and share it and a recipe with everyone. I’ll

bring my favorite product(s), too! A twist on this is for those that say they have Tupperware they don’t even

use anymore… let them bring it, show ‘n tell about it and trade with someone else for their product instead.

FUN!

9. Tupper-Test Party - For the very reluctant party person, I give you a piece of my Tupperware to go home

and try out. Then me, you and 2 guests, (could be neighbor on each side of you), get together and share the

results of the test in just 15 minutes! I bring you a gift for testing it out and a gift for your guests that come!

10. New Review Party - Guests get together for a quick 20-minute review of the Newest Tupperware

products, sales specials and/or particular new product line. You and guests get to help Tupperware out with

a survey on the product line and gifts are given for your input. EXCITING, EXCLUSIVE and FUN!
