DESCRIPTION

A research process based Big6 created by Michael Eisenburg and Bob Berkowitz. It is a great tool for helping kids learn how to research without the frustration that usually happens when there is too much to learn and too many materials from which to choose.

You have a research project to do but do not know where to start. With Big6 you will learn the right steps to take whether you are trying to research an animal, buy a car or look for a pair of socks on a cold morning.

o Use the online card catalog at the Public Library to find a book

o Use a quality search engine such as Google to find some websites

o Use a magazine index to find an article that will help

o Make sure all the information is coveredo  If I am missing something, go back to step 2 & 3 to see what I need to add or find

o Make sure all the requirements are meto Present to my class or group or turn it in for a grade

next.With this process, any kind of research is possible from a simple report on how animals find food to a Doctoral Thesis.
