“SIRPI BALASUBRAMANIAM”
In this chapter the researcher has recorded the interview she had with the
poet “Sirtpi Balasubramaniam”, of whose work poems the researcher has
translated. The researcher in person had an interview with the poet. The interview
with poet has been presented in the form of a questionnaire
1. What made you think to give Such a different title “g[{” “Chain of Zeroes”
Time, it remains forever, when man started thinking about time only that
time ‘Time’ has emerged. When Time is sprunk it is zero. So, gave that
Time is “Chain of Zeroes”. He says “present is the truth”.
2. Why did you write this poem in a dialogue form?
Just it arouse in my mind to give like that.
3. Why these subdivisions? 1) 2) 3)
To make the disciple understand the origin.
4. The poem seems to be a ‘Philosophical poem’
What made you write like this?
“Iread Anandha K.Kumarasamy’s ‘Time & Eternity’. My intense interest
towards that book induced me to write a piece of poem relating to “Time” with a
philosophical touch.
5. Comparisons entirely different
My past memories in the childhood days in the village made him give such
comparisons. I saw the children playing with the (lizards) often. Here I compare
that with the sage who is nearly dying.

6. How did you get the idea of mixing of all the things like Science, Nature,
Philosophy, Religion, Politics, etc?
Planning! Sometimes above these it come all of a sudden – as said by
‘Wordsworth’ “Spontaneous over flow of powerful feelings recollected in
tranquility”.
7. Can the readers consider yourself (the poet) to be in the place of sage? (Did
you get such question in your mind?
Yes, it depends on the individuality of the readers.
8. Did you talk about any specialty, particularly?
In my early days, during the childhood days, I played under this tree and
enjoyed those days.
9. What is the meaning of the title ?
Life is nothing but a zero. “Zero is the origin of life” Lots of things come
inside nothing. When everything is examined the origin is the zero.
10. ‘fy;yiwf;F nghFk; kl;Lk; rpy;yiu njit>’
Here he speaks about how the world is very materialistic.
11. What does ‘origin’ ‘\yk’; mean?
Here origin means it refers to the origin of God.
12. What is meant by
To give a forest atmosphere, he gave different kinds of Trees. It is “a kind
of Tree”.
13. Do you say that ‘God’ is the origin of all the things like Nature, Philosophy,
etc.

“God” is the origin for all the things like Nature, Philosophy, human life
etc., Human being moving away from Nature, Nature is being destroyed.
14. Is this poetry applicable for all kinds of readers?
A poet writes different kinds of poems for all kinds of readers and so he
can’t satisfy all the readers through his work. Each piece may satisfy the
readers of that period.

vessel and mind empty means?
If only it is empty, we can fill it. So keep your mind empty, so that you can
gather lot of information.
16. (P.No.105-107) “”? What Time is? What does it mean actually?
Time here refers to the ‘Present Time’
17. What is meant by “”? (P.No.34)
A kind of tree, since the incidents are occurring in the forest, he wants to
give lots of references to different kinds of trees.

rpy;yiu njit’
