This Bible reading schedule is arranged such that by reading two portions of the Old Testament and one portion of the New Testament each day, you will read through the Bible once a year.

The portions should be read through prayerfully, pausing to ponder over areas that you find particularly helpful for your life, considering practical implications from what you have read.

A more substantial reading of the New Testament is also arranged so that it will be read through an additional seven times a year (the references for this are in bold italics). If you find this too difficult to do, read only what you are able to do for spiritual benefit rather than force yourself to read, and it becomes a burden.

The speed of reading can vary according to the nature of the subject matter, and wherever helpful, passages or verses could be noted for further study and pondering or memorization.

Other forms of reading of the Bible should be included wherever suitable, to increase the scope and depth of learning from the Scriptures.

Proper reading of the Scriptures should lead to a change in our hearts such that we become more and more like the Lord Jesus in our moral and spiritual character, and we grow in our fellowship with God.
