Beyond ExcellenceTaking your Jewish Day School to the next levelby making the whole vastly greater than the sum of its parts

Torah EDJE, LLCRabbi Yeshayahu E. Greenfeld, Director

Even the greatest symphonyorchestra needs anoccasional guest conductor...to help invigorate its players, identify weak spots, advise themembers of the orchestra, and polish its performance. A Jewish day-school, yeshiva ketana, or afternoon Hebrewschool is no different. The crushing demands of day-to-dayadministration and education can put even the finest schoolinto a rut of stale routine that makes fresh thinking andinnovation difficult to achieve.

It’s no one’s fault. overworked faculty and staff are simply too close to the picture. it is unfair to expect them to bevisionaries as well. Indeed it would be easier for them toadvise another institution – one in which they are not soheavily invested – than to achieve the detached objectivityneeded to make necessary improvements at home.

Seventeen years ago the North Shore Hebrew Academy insuburban Great Neck, NY was a substantial day school. today it is considered virtually peerless – academically, spiritually, creatively, administratively and – above all –in the quality of school life enjoyed by its children, itsfaculty and its parent body.

All across America, principals, headmasters, administrators, board members and PTA leaders of traditional day-schools andHebrew schools view NSHA as the benchmark of quality Jewisheducation. It is their source of inspiration, and the place to visitand observe how a model yeshiva should be run.

Guiding the Academy during this era of qualitative and quantitative growthwas Rabbi Yeshayahu E. Greenfeld, a nationally recognized leader in modern Jewish education.

“The North ShoreHebrew Academy is where it is today

thanks in large partto the dynamicleadership of

Rabbi Greenfeld.”

Now, your school can benefit from theunique vision and talent that catapultedNorth Shore to where it is today throughtorah edJe, llc, a new consultancyheaded by Rabbi Yeshayahu E. Greenfeld, the trailblazing dean who guided NorthShore, Yeshiva of Flatbush and YeshivatRambam before that.there is nothing formulaic about torah edJe, llc’sapproach. After all, no two schools are alike – just as no twochildren are alike. Rather, what Torah EDJE, LLC offers is theability to evaluate a school both macroscopically andmicroscopically, and provide (and help implement) clear, do-able guidelines for making the whole vastly better than the sum of its parts.

teachers andadministrators who

partners in hismission of

education, which he deems holy.”

allen Jay Bodner, esq., Graduate & Honorary

“… concern forstudents and the free

Other schools may find themselves confronting unexpectedchallenges such as demographic changes, diminishingenrollment, subpar standardized test results, frequent facultyturnover, weak spots in certain educational areas, restiveparents or a foreboding sense that ‘the thrill is gone’. torah edJe, llc is able to address these issues and findcreative ways to turn problems into opportunities foroverall school improvement.

Best of all, a fresh perspective is bothaffordable and practical. In most cases there is no need for radical changes inadministration and human resources, or costly restructuringthat disrupts school operations and disturbs the children. And, in the rare situations where more radical changes arecalled for, Torah EDJE, LLC will help implement them in amanner that causes the least trauma.
