The six (6) degrees and council will be judged separately with a First Place Woman of the Year from each degree and council. Movie Poster Contest

The French called it "The Crazy Years," but in the US, Canada and the UK it was referred to as the "Roaring Twenties or The Golden Years." It signified the decade's distinctive regeneration that developed after the deprivation of WWI. It was the era of social excess, and was reflected in the explosion of cultural, financial, industrial, artistic, musical and technological advancements featured in major cities like New York, Chicago, London and Paris. Come to Tampa's 2015 party and bring us your best depiction of this Era! Pick a subject and a category and create an art poster sized 27" x 40", and it will be displayed at convention! A glass covering is not necessary, but it needs to be able to be displayed against a wall by being framed OR be sturdy and free-standing. Materials can be any art medium (ex: paint, ink, paper art, cloth, etc.). The subject title of the poster needs to be easily recognizable on the poster or frame. Categories will be:

Most Authentic (Best Use of Subject) Funniest Most Artistic

Subject is to be easily recognized as associated with the 1920's. Suggestions are jazz music/musicians, "Flappers," Prohibition/Speakeasies, organized crime, silent movies or movie stars, Art Deco, Babe Ruth, the Women’s Suffrage movement, 1920's Inventions, 1929 Wall Street Crash, and The Great Gatsby. Deadline for entry is April 1, 2015. For questions you can call Jan Phelps at (813) 935-1118 or email [email protected].
