DescriptionModel 450-60 Reservoir Valve is anautomatic control valve designed to fillreservoirs or tanks and to shut off whenthe water reaches a predeterminedlevel. The valve opening will modulate,adjusting the fill rate to a discharge flowwhile maintaining a constant upper le-vel in the reservoir.

An upper control chamber, operating ona two way control principle, has varyingpressure produced by pilot modulationand opens in conjunction with an up-stream restriction needle valve.

If the water rises to a predeterminedlevel, float action will tend to close thepilot valve, and the main valvemodulates to close. When water leveldrops below set point, the float willdrop, following the water level,releasing water pressure from the controlchamber to open the main valve.

Since the control loop is a 2-way loop,the valve will modulate constantlytrying to keep the tank level stable.

DescriptionModel 450-66 Two-Level Reservoir Con-trol Valve is an automatic control valvedesigned for two-level control of thewater level in reservoirs and tanks. Fullvalve opening reduces head loss to aminimum, prevents abrasion and redu-ces cavitation damage.

The valve can be operated via anindependent external pressure sourcewhen line pressure is very low, or whenthe water/liquid is very dirty or highlycorrosive. When water level rises to theset point, the float mechanism will belifted by the water and it will reach theset point limit, change position of thepilot valve, and valve will close.

When water level falls, the float willfollow the water level. It will changeposition only when it reaches the lowerlevel limit. The pilot then changesposition and valve will open.

The float pilot is a 2-way pilot driven bythe float mechanism and the waterlevel.

When water level falls the float will reactby dropping with the water level, andthe main valve opens to supply the usedvolume back into the tank.

When flow decreases, the pilot valveand paddle will come to a halt and thepilot will signal the valve to open theflow rate setting.

DescriptionModel 490-UZ Anti Burst (excessiveflow) Control Valve, designed to auto-matically shut off water supply if theflow demand exceeds preset point. Thevalve operates on a 3-way controlprinciple and installed with an up-stream orifice device.

If flow rate exceeds the pilot setting(usually caused by burst pipe), theincreased orifice differential pressure willsignal the pilot to command the mainvalve to close and “lock”. Reopening thevalve requires manual resetting.
