UNCLE BEN’S® is honored to be working with your PTA as we launch the 2013 Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest on July 29th. �is is an exciting program that promotes healthier eating habits and helps schools by awarding cafeteria makeovers.

About Ben’s Beginners™ Ben’s Beginners™ isn’t just a cooking contest. It’s a movement designed to empower and encourage parents to connect with their kids in the kitchen. And it’s about inspiring children to make healthier decisions at an earlier age by getting them interested in cooking.

A great opportunity for your school Encourage parents to enter the contest by making a short video with their child cooking a rice dish together. We’ll be awarding $165,000 in total prizes—and there are two ways your school could win!

1. Family prize: Winning families receive a valuable prize package, including a cafeteria makeover for their school.

2. School participation prize: Schools will win a $30,000 cafeteria makeover if they have the highest number of entries in their size category (1-250 students; 251-500; 501+). �e more families from your school that enter, the better chance your school has to win!

Spread the word and help your school Start creating buzz with the flyers and other material in this kit. And be sure to hand out copies of the flyers at your Back To School Night. Remember, the more families that enter, the better the odds of your school winning a cafeteria makeover.
