Before 1st day have seating chart made by either CST scores & boy/girl. Make name tags.
As kids walk in tell them to grab a folder and spiral unless they are already on their seats.
Before you assign their seats, explain where to put backpacks and to have nothing out expect a pencil and these papers. Also explain that name changes will be done immediately after your seat (mispronounced, shortened)
Parents & students email have subject line: Student name & period
Have student write HW on the handout: 1) signatures 2) supplies/$1.50 3) emails
*Put the overhead slide on and turn on projector.
*Have a sharpie in pocket to change names
*Names tags and warm-up on tables
Tuesday’s HW: $1 suggested donation & parent signature

8th Grade Algebra Recommendation Requirements
• Maintain a grade of a B or better.
• Academic Maturity– NO missing assignments– Few late assignments– Takes good notes– SHOWS ALL WORK
Assessments: 70%
Quizzes are generally once a week and tests are per unit (usually every two or three weeks).
The quiz/test questions are similar to warm-up and homework problems.
Students are expected to STUDY prior to each quiz/test.
Classwork: 10%
Notebook Checks.-warm ups: problem written, work, correct answer-homework: pencil, problem, work, completion
There will be additional in class assignments that will also count towards the student’s classwork grade.
Students should take pride in their work, messy or unreadable work will not be accepted!
Homework:1. Expect it everyday, except testing days
2. SHOW ALL WORK…no work = no credit
3. Due at the BEGINNING of class & we walk around stamping them
4. Must be in pencil
6. No incomplete work accepted
5. Title on top of assignment
7. Late work is partial credit (60% D)
