❖ Mr. Simien / Math Lab After completing 15-minute daily warm-ups, scholars will complete Time and Topic goals in ALEKS for a
weekly grade. The two grades will be averaged as one weekly grade classified as ALEKS Tutorial. This will
build skills and increase knowledge and they can see growth in their ALEKS pie chart. I have assigned 6 topics
that are broken down so that students can build their knowledge and demonstrate mastery on a knowledge
check. They are still responsible for completing the 12 assigned topics and have full-access to ALEKS. ALEKS
assignments are due by 11:59 pm Sunday night each week and counts as 50% of the weekly grade.
Both the Topic and Time Goals in ALEKS will be scored based on student completion and accuracy. All
students are aware of the impact ALEKS has on their overall grade are reminded of their progress midweek.
You can view your student’s grade and progress on the ALEKS website at www.aleks.com. Six topics assigned this week are tailored to the needs of each student in class. The following topics have been assigned and will give students skills practice for mastering the upcoming Algebra 1 EOC: 1. Evaluating an algebraic expression: Whole number addition or subtraction 2. Evaluating an algebraic expression: Whole number multiplication or division 3. Evaluating an algebraic expression: Whole numbers with two operations 4.
